Very quaint and loved staying here!
I loved this hotel, because it is quaint and has that old Meditarrean-style feel from maybe the 50s. I had a standard king-bed room and it was very roomy. A lot bigger than you get in larger hotels. There was plenty of room to move around with a sitting area. You can also walk right out to the pool and there was a dining table right outside your door, if you want to eat there. I ate breakfast out there every day, and the server became acquainted with your tastes. One day she noticed my daughter only at the strawberries, so she brought her a plate of strawberries the next morning. The continental breakfast consisted of just breads, fruit and juice or coffee. The bathroom in the room was spacious and there was a separate shower room. The shower was large and had a large "rain" shower head. Loved it! The only little downside was the TV is a bit small - since flatscreen is all the rage now. And the air conditioner control was not turned on when I arrived. I was originally concerned that it wasnt cool enough, but I moved the control up and "wa-la". The control is old and hard to read as well - my only complaint. The hotel is about a 5 min. walk to the beach - wonderful! And literally around the corner from shopping and eating. Very nice places to dine! For kids...there was a Subway on 5th as well and plenty of places for delicious ice cream or gelato!!! I highly recommend staying here!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Zoo is 5 minutes away -for the kids. And there are plenty of places to shop right in downtown Naples and nearby surrounding areas. The shops on 3rd Street South - it was a little dead there, but it also may have been the season (July) and the day I went it was Sunday, but there were a lot empty spaces; however, good places to eat. Some of the shops on 5th Avenue stay open as late as 11:00pm.
