Enjoyable Stay
We were first given a room that wasnt clean and had lots of steps. We asked for a different room and was accomodated immediately. That room was GREAT. Very family oriented which we really enjoyed. Everyone was very friendly. I expected the grounds to be more updated but thats O.K. We will definitely go back! The beach is just across the street and there is a guard to help you cross. It was a wonderful vacation!

I would recommend this place, but only for families--a lot for kids to do.
The hotel was clean, the room was clean but very basic, the bed was hard as a rock, so were the pillows. The noise from the highway and the vibrating boom of the disco until 3 AM kept me awake when the window was open, the AC (made non-adjustable by the hotel) made the room too cold and clammy with the window shut. Food was plentiful but bland and uninteresting. The fancy restaurant shown in the online pictures of the hotel is not connected with the hotel--you do get a 15% discount, however. Nightly entertainment was well-done (exquisite dancers), but after the 3rd night, I started to find it a bit boring. During the day, constant disco music and noise. Lots and lots and lots and lots of kids (how much pee in the pool?--we did not use it). Management and hotel staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful, in spite of being woefully underpaid. The grounds are well kept and very pretty, though we did see some discarded diapers lying about near the edge of the property. There are roosters and iguanas, both of which we liked. You must cross a very busy road to get to the beach, but they post a crossing guard to help. Beach was nice but big waves--do not go in unless you are a strong swimmer. They have a bunch of free umbrellas and tables for use by hotel guests, but wander a few feet down the beach and you will be charged $8. Bus and taxi easy to get.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Check out Coco Loco Tours located at the Scuba Shack just a couple of blocks south of the hotel and right on Av. Madrid. They have some off-the-beaten-track tours that we enjoyed. Taking a side-trip to Colima is also worthwhile, but watch out where you eat. We ate at a place that looked good outside but had a filthy kitchen, and we did get sick.

Food was excellent
The hotel is on a hill lots of climing, the beach is across the street and the beds are hard but we got a room looking out the pacific, the food was excellent and we were treated very well.
Traveler's tip
Manzanillo is a oil tanker port, not a tourist mecca, very few english speaking travelers, but its nice and friendly.
