Renovations almost complete
Classic, clean, renovations almost complete. Overall a good value. Some staff much more helpful than others, but generally a good experience.

Great Hotel!
We had a great 4-night stay in a newly remodeled double room, on the 6th floor (7th American, 1st fl doesnt count - lobby). The room was very clean and luxurious. Everything was totally new! Shower was awesome. English speaking TV channels included CNN and BBC. Personnel - very helpful and accommodating, everyone spoke English. The best of all - breakfast! It was the most wonderful selection - juices, all kinds of pastries and deserts, cold cuts - salami, cheese and ham, yogurts, fruit salads, cereals, and so on... I usually dont drink coffee, but couldnt resist a cup of cappuccino in the morning. The wait staff was very courteous. We picked this hotel because its only 5 minute walk from the train station, and we planned several day-trips from Milan. The hotel is in a nice safe area, despite my concerns of being so close to the station. On the same street there are a couple of pleasant restaurants, a supermarket, several banks (so dont worry about finding ATM), and some small clothing shops. The hotel is still being renovated, but we hardly noticed the ongoing construction. We did smell a little bit of paint, but it wasnt strong enough to bother me or my husband. We opened windows in the evenings, and it took care of the issue. Btw, there was no air-conditioning in the hotel during our stay in May, we were told - not till June. The heating worked great, and you control the temps to your liking. Overall, we are very pleased with the hotel and would definitely stay again.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
(1) Make sure and check out the supermarket across the street. We got vino, all of our snacks and train ride/picnic goodies there. Use the in-room mini-bar as your little refrigerator. (2) I know, its hard to resist, but please dont stuff your pockets/purses with the breakfast buffet offerings. Just ask you waitress to make you a to go packet or two, and shell be happy to do so - whatever you like, bottled water and all.
