Far from the historic center

The hotel is good if you have business to do in the EUR zone of Rome. Even if it is just in front of the Subway, it takes 30-40 minutes to reach the historic center. On the other hand, the advertised free parking is only for 20 cars and cannot be reserved. I was not able to use it during my whole stay. On the plus side, the room was ok and they had a fast and free internet connection.

Not fair

My mother and I arrived late evening and the room assigned to us instead of double it was a single room where they just put two beds, so it was extremely tiny and uncomfortable. A/C was on from 5 to 10pm, i found about it the next day when asked. It was just because I complained about the room, that the next day we got a double room, and I did not get from them any compensation for the first night spent in single room despite i was insisting during my whole stay there (five nights). Breakfast buffet was good and location too, even though train station was two blocks from hotel. No attractions nearby at all, so you have to take train to downtown or anywhere else.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you want to visit the Vatican Museums and the Sixtine Chappel is very convenient to buy the tickets on the Vatican website, so you will avoud the huge lines to enter. However, I will suggest not to take the guided tour, it takes like two hours in a very crowded area, so you really get stressed and do not appreciate too much.

Not Impressed

Room- extremely small, barely any room to walk around, the supposed "king" size bed was made up of 1 full & 1 twin bed. Cleanliness was not the best, noticed that the toiliet was not properly cleaned but everything else seemed to be fine. Food- Free Breakfast was suitable even though it was the same food everyday. Service - front desk was a bit rude, but was helpful when asked for the nearest grocery store and metro station.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

definitely buy the weekly unlimited metro card. it saved me LOTS of money. metro was extremely easy to use and close by the hotel. Also, try stopping by the grocery store to buy snacks and waterbottles to stock your minibar it’s a lot cheaper there. There are also 2-3 ATM’s (bancomats) close by the hotel as well.

Renovations Needed

The photos of this hotel must have been taken when it first opened (which must have been at least 10 years ago). While the location is perfect (across the street from the subway, around the corner from a gelato shop and bank, and down the street from a great pizza shop and grocery store), the fundamental aspects of the hotel are poor. The shower in my room had mold and the mattress had bed bugs.

Fine

Great hotel for the price. Pretty clean, no complaints with the staff. The balcony is a nice plus too. Convenient to get to if you don’t mind about 20 minutes on the metro. Breakfast was good.

Basic hotel but good value

If your looking for something basic and cheap then this isn’t a bad option. Room is basic with the usuals such as tv, shower etc. Best aspect is the breakfast which was fantastic and was included. Is very close to the metro station, being around 250m. Just be aware that it is around a 15-20 min train from the colosseum.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Check to see if breakfast is included. Also get the day pass for the train as youll use it both ways.

Very good and Cost Effective

Our stay was pleasant!!!. Metro is just a 5 minute walk heading left-front (big plus!). Very good pizza walking just 10 minutes to your right in via Laurentina (Affordable!!). Ice Cream (Gelati) to your right and then right again (3 minutes) and a Supermarket to your right (5 minutes). All directions from main door. Do not forget an early good breakfast!!! is FREE.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Buy a 3 day metro ticket (but in the morning). Metro will take you to most sites. Do not expect a very clean Metro but is OK. Enjoy!!!

Great location

If you are lucky enough to get a room on a fifth floor you will enjoy a comfortable, quiet room with a balcony. Breakfast buffet has a nice variety of fruits, juices, pastries, coffee/cappuccino,etc. Hotel is located in a safe area of Rome with easy parking in a side street around the corner. A metro that takes you to historical center is across the street. There are pizzerias and coffee bars within walking distance. All in all a good value for money hotel.

Close to the Train

The hotel was close to the train and the last stop on the B line. Far enough away from all the crowd and busdowntown, yet close enough by train to get to all the attractions. The rooms are pretty small, but comfortable and you’re only in them to sleep, since you’re out most of the day touring. The staff was friendly and breakfast was more or less continental (fruits, breads, jams, coffee) with little variety. There are no real restaurants near the hotel, so be sure to eat downtown before settling back at the hotel. There’s a great gelato shop in the shopping plaza by the bank, across from the train station. All in all, it was a great stay and I’d stay there again.

Nice hotel in an excellent position.

This hotel was just right for us as we wanted fast access to the main sights in Rome without having to drive into the centre. It is just 5 mins walk to the metro. Breakfast was good when we got it early, Later on some of the foods and drinks ran out and were not replaced.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

The sights in Rome are vast and overwhelming. I recommend making an itinery of what to see, and checking the internet for opening and closing times. Avoid spending hours queuing at the Colloseum by going to the Forum first and purchasing a duel Colloseum/Forum ticket. There is rarely a queue for the Forum so visit it first then go to the Colloseum where you walk down the pre-paid ticket aisle and don’t have to queue at all.

Convenient location out of the hustle and bustle

This hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the Metro station through a relatively safe residential neighborhood. The Metro wisks you to/from the Termini station with access to the Leonardo airport train and all other connections to the tourist parts of Rome. Nice, clean well furnished room, generous breakfast, pleasant surroundings at quite a reasonable price. Not much else going on in the neghborhood.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Buy daily or weekly Metro passes and your to/from Rome expenses are minimal. Choose the last car on the Metro and it’s usually less crowded.

An OK Deal if you are comfortable exploring a little

The room is tiny, tiny, tiny, as is the bathroom, but it was clean enough and the staff was helpful enough. They staff seems a little rude and/or indifferent, but I think it’s just a cultural difference. If you can try your best to get by in broken italian, they seem to try harder to gesture and point to help. We were very confused about how to catch the subway at first, and they didn’t seem over the top anxious to help but they did try. Elevator is tiny and slow. Request a room on the back side of the hotel if traffic noise bothers you. Otherwise, not a bad place, a little on the expensive side for what you get, but it’s far enough from down town to let you feel a little like a local, without being in an inconvenient location. Really strongly reccommend wandering the neighborhood if you have time; there are a hundred different great little deli’s and bakeries that were all fantastic.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Metro Station is just about a block to the left when you exit the hotel, and across the street. The metro takes you right to the steps of all the major sights in "down town" rome, as well as to the "termini" station where you can catch a train to practically anwhere in Europe. A helpful note... The workers in the green center cube-type kiosk/ticket stations inside the subway usually speak english and can help you get clear directions.

Location, location, location!

The hotel easy to find if you are using the train from the airport... It is located just down the road from the subway.. an easy and short journey to Any and all of Romes attractions... there is a supermarket conveniently located near by.. and a taxi stand and bank / atm next door.. The breakfasts are good, and plenty to eat/drink. Although the rooms are very small they are clean and comfortable. The staff are more than happy to assist in any way they can. I will be recommending this hotel to any and all wishing to visit rome.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Although there are plenty of refreshment carts throughout Romes tourist spots you should go to a supermarket to purchase drinks before you get there.. A can of Coke or similar drink (they are smaller than regular cans) from these carts will cost you between 4 and 4.50 euros... Thats over $5 US a can... you can blow your budget just on drinks....

Bad service

I thought the guy in the front desk was having a bad day when I first arrived to the hotel, because he had a bad mood and he was kind of rude. It is true that I arrived before the chek-in time, but I dont think that is a reason to talk to me like that. I was there for only one night, and then returned three days later. The day I arrived for the 2nd time I didnt have a reservation, and I was just wondering if they have available rooms, and again, the guy who was in the front desk laughed at me... The next day, I had reservations, and the first-day-guy was in the front desk, and he was as rude as the first time as I arrived. Room was acceptable, small but mostly clean and quiet. If the guys in the front desk were nicer, I would rate the hotel much better.

Traveler's tip on dining

Near the hotel, in the Viale dell’Aeronautica, a few steps from Via Laurentina, there is a gellato store which is very crowded from locals. You wont regret eating a nice gellatto in there!

Terrible Hotel and Service

I just stayed at this hotel for 5 days. Do NOT stay here. this is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms are very very small and the service is horrible. The staff is rude and not helpful. The resturant food is horrible. The heat did not work and the toliets barely flush. I will never stay there again. I rate this hotel as a 1 star if that!!

Traveler's tip

This hotel is NOT near any attractions!!

HOTEL EUR PALACE

THE HOTEL WAS OK . HARD TO GET USE TO TOILET AND BATH ON ONE FLOOR. THE BREAKFAST WAS OK THE SAME THING EVERY MORNING. IT WAS VERY EASY TO ACCESS THE SUBWAY FROM HOTEL. FELT VERY SAFE. THERE IS AN AWESOME RESTAURANT A BLOCK AWAY.THE BEDS WERE HARD BUT CLEAN.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

GET A ROMA PASS VALID FOR 3 DAYS UNLIMITED USE OF SUBWAY AND 2 ATTRACTIONS. ALSO EXCHANGE PLACES CHARGE 19% COMMISSION SO CHANGE MONEY BEFORE YOU GO. USE CREDIT AND DEBIT CARD AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. THE RATES ARE BETTER. NEED CASH FOR TRAIN TICKETS. HAVE FUN. PACK LIGHT IF USING SUBWAY THE STAIRS ARE TERROR WHEN LIFTING LUGGAGE. HAVE FUN.......

Small, but clean, convienient, & efficient

I would definitely stay here again. After reading past reviews we asked for an upper floor, back side room, which got us away from any traffic noise. Very pleasant. Small room, but how much time do you really spend in the room when you’re not sleeping? Free breakfast buffet was great, but a little monotonous--more variety would be nice, and especially the inclusion of some hard boiled eggs for people who are used to eggs for breakfast. One woman we met in the elevator actually brought her own hard boiled eggs from New Jersey! Very convienient to the city of Rome, as it was right across the street from the subway. We bought a week-long pass at that station for 16 euros, and were able to ride any subway or bus the whole week.

Traveler's tip

Super market a block from the hotel-cheap bottles of wine, lemoncello, & olive oil! There are 2 trains going to Pompeii --we chose the wrong one & had to re-buy tickets in Naples. Note return times on tickets. Naples station doesn’t know meaning of customer service- said "it’s not our problem!". There is both a train & subway from Naples to Pompeii--take the subway. Has trains that leave later in the day & the stop is closer to entrance.

Clean, friendly, looking forward to staying again

The hotel was wonderful, so close to the metro, which really helped us save on money for our whole trip. The only problem was the sound of traffic at night in our room. I suggest staying on the upper floors if you can, otherwise this was a fantastic hotel! The metro was across the street, along with the bus station, and the taxi’s were right next to the building. It was very easy to get to downtown Rome.

Traveler's tip on dining

If you turn right as soon as you exit the hotel, cross the street, and walk a couple of blocks, just before the gas station there is a great little pizzeria, delicious food for a really great price. And the service there is exceptional! Also, along the same route there is a wonderful Pasticceria for desserts.

Two Star Hotel - Very small rooms

Everything except the size of the rooms, makes this a great business trip hotel. Bus and Train terminal across the street. If budget allows, reserve a suite . . . you’ll be happy.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Presently do not have internet service of any type. Was told they are working on it!

Would stay at this hotel again

My friend and I stayed at this hotel in two separate rooms. Both our rooms were standalone rooms. However, my room was smaller and was accommodated with a twin size bed while hers was accommodated with a full size bed. The rooms were very clean, with the Exception of the bathroom which appeared to have had mildew. I had asked room service to clean it but I doubt they did. Anyway, based on the bad reviews on the website I almost didn’t book my stay at this hotel. But glad I did. I was more than impressed when I saw the layout of the hotel. In my standards it could easily pass for a three star hotel. Because the reviews said that guests could hear noise from the street I asked for a room on the fifth floor away from the street, which was a good choice because I wasn’t disturb by the noise of passing vehicles. However, my friend got a room on the first floor and she said it was quite noisy and therefore caused her loss of sleep. The continental breakfast was the same each morning but was great. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again. It was convenient to the metro system and is only a five minute walk from the hotel. Also, there is a taxi stand to the right of the hotel which is convenient if you have a early flight to the airport or if you need a cab to anywhere.

Great location and great staff

hotel easy to find off the Metro end of the B line and easy from airport by train and metro. Staff very friendly and help and the restaurant served the best seafood we had whilst there.. Internet wifi available but you have to sit in the lobby to access it, rooms small but clean and bed very comfortable.Small courtyard for sitting outside and sharing a bottle of wine was a great hotel and very user friendly for getting around rome. would go back for sure

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Can take the metro from hotel a few stops to the collesium and easy to take the metro to termini and change for the a line to fountain of trevii and walk to the vatican. very easy to get around from here and rome is on your doorstep.

good value if you book trhough Expedia

If I had paid the full rate I would not have been so impressed. However, for the purposes of my visit to Rome, this was the best place to be (I had business in the EUR where the hotel is situated) and was out all day. So the hotel served as a place to sleep. It was therefore perfect; silent, warm, reasonably priced, breakfast was good (I’m not fussy - a good coffe will do), water supply was hot and plentiful, I even got to park my car in their locked carpark behind the hotel with no extra charge. I’ll go back and stay there again.

Traveler's tip

Business north of Rome? Close to the airport and easy to access, this is a good place to have a good night’s sleep at a reasonable price.
