Great stay, great location
I had read many reviews to choose this hotel and was not disappointed. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast (included with the price) was excellent. It was very easy to walk to just about every destination in Rome. The room was a bit small but it really didnt matter since we were sightseeing for 10+ hours every day. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Absolutely, will be returning to this hotel
The location, service, breakfast, room and everything else about this hotel were amazing. We were only there two nights but with the fully included mini-bar it meant that we did not have to go out to buy anything to drink. We were walking distance to basically everything we wanted to see except for Vatican City. The hotels employees were very helpful. They called our tour service and our shuttle bus to confirm our reservations for us. They provided excellent information on local things to see and directions to various items, including providing us with a map identifying where we were and the places we might want to go. The location is ideal. The breakfast provides essentially everything you might want to have and if you are leaving for a tour or something early and do not have time to eat breakfast in the dining room they will pack a take-away breakfast for you to take with you, all you need to do is ask. Highly recommended!!!!
This hotel is easy walking distance to the Roman Forum and Colleseum along with many other attractions.

Great people made for a great hotel
The Artemide Hotel is on a busy main street with lots of shopping and easy access to the buses, which you will use. It is 5-6 blocks from the train station. The hotel is clean, modern and has the best staff we have ever encountered. They speak English well and are friendly, courteous and provided many services from tour info, train schedules, map directions - suggestions and extras like packing a lunch for us for a day tour to Pompeii. Free breakfast offered enough to start each day. Internet access even from the rooms for a min fee. Full bar in hotel. I would book there again for sure. Great value!
We went in October and had perfect weather. Not too crowded either.

Perfect Service
I cant say enough good things about the service at Hotel Artemide. The staff was so helpful from the minute we stepped in the door. The room was perfect, and the front desk directed us to everywhere we needed to go. The last day we were there I got extremely sick. We were suppose to leave that morning at 5:30 to go to the airport and I couldnt even make it out of the room I was so sick. My wife went to the front desk to ask them if we could stay an extra night at the expedia rate just in case. Not only did he do this for us, he also helped us with the shuttle to see if we could get a later ride just in case I felt better. He spent around and hour trying to get a hold of the shuttle service and then arranged for them to come back at 6:30 at no extra charge. Also, when we left he had packed breakfast for us since it was so early, and gave us his card to call if we didnt make our flight and they would come pick us up at the airport. Amazing service, the hotel was beautiful, and right in a pefect location as well. You cant go wrong with this place, we only stayed two nights here, but when we go back to Rome we wouldnt stay anywhere else. BOOK IT!!

Excellent Customer Service
The staff at the hotel was extremely courteous and helpful. I had mentioned that we were celebrating our 30th anniversary when calling to confirm my reservation and upon arrival we were upgraded to one of their nicest rooms and given a complimentary bottle of wine. In addition, a free fully stocked minibar comes with the room rate. The hotel is centrally located -- about a 10 minute walk to most of the major attractions -- but surprisingly not a great number of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The business center in the hotel is one of the nicest you will find. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and would definitely stay there again.

Great little hotel
Booked on line after reading the reviews and we were completely satisfied. Location was near all major points of interest and the hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and accomodating. We looked forward to the wonderful breakfast each day. Would certainly return.

Excellent Choice in Rome
We chose this hotel based on the favorable Trip Advisor reviews and were not at all disappointed. Great location near Rome Terminal station and not far from Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. Staff was helpful and accomodating and the room very comfortable; we had just come from a 7-night hotel stay in Sienna and the room here was much more consistent with U.S. standards. For the price its a bargain!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Its a two block walk from the train station; not worth the cab fare.

Lovely hotel
This was a great stop on our recent trip to Rome (Sept 09) however the only critique would be that their roof deck was closed for the season even though the weather was still beautiful. Other then that small critique this was a very friendly, lovely hotel to which I would absolutely return.

Wonderful Stay
A great, comfortable, well kept hotel only a few blocks from the train station. We walked there with our bags and it only took a few minutes. No need for an expensive shuttle or taxi service. The hotel is spotless and well kept. There were a lot of unexpected treats - snacks, free drinks, in-room wetbar (free and refilled daily), candies on the bed every day, water bottles to keep us hydrated walking the city, and a bottle of chianti! Breakfast is gratis, filling, and is more than just the usual continental. After filling up on eggs, fruit, yogurt, and pastries we were satisfied for most of the day. The hotel itself was a 15 minute walk to just about everything except the vatican. Our only complaint was in the internet service. Theres supposedly free wifi in the rooms, but we couldnt connect with either of our computers and the front desk was unwilling to let us have access to the business center without paying for it. All in all it was a great stay and wed come back.

Wonderful Honeymoon Hotel
We(my new husband and I)stayed at Hotel Artemide from 8/17/09 - 8/23/09 and LOVED it! The staff is so friendly and never too busy to help. The hotel is well maintained and nicely decorated. We were upgraded to a superior room free of charge. The room was on the small side... but it is a hotel in an ancient city, so a small-ish room is normal. The room was very clean however, and did include FREE still and sparkling water, juice, beer, and soda in the mini fridge. Be sure not to miss out on the complimentary breakfast! It includes fruits, yogurt, meats and cheeses, pastries, and even eggs and bacon along with 7 types of juices and coffee, latte, or cappuccino. The location is really great too! Two blocks away from a Metro stop for quick travel or close enough to some major sties for walking.

Nice Stay in Rome
Excellent hotel for reasonable value. Within relatively easy walking distance of major Rome sites - we never had to use a cab until we left for airport. Friendly service, especially at the front desk. Decent but not outstanding breakfast. The hotel exceeded our expectations in most respects.

Excellent customer service--would definitely go back
The Artemide Hotel staff bends over backwards to be accommodating. They provided us with tips for restaurants, transportation, etc. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Location isnt the best feature, but many buses travel past Artemide, and are easy to use, getting you all over town. Clean rooms and public areas, plus a charming roof top patio for cocktails in the evening. An excellent value.

Terrific Stay in Rome!
My three-night stay at the Artemide was great - truly. It exceeded any and all expectations I had. It was clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly. The room was comfortable, had a mini-bar and a large bathroom. We were given two complimentary drinks at the roof-top bar, and our stay included a breakfast buffet that offered a nice assortment. I would be happy to stay here again if I travel to Rome and dont hesitate to recommend it.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Artemide is convenient to the Repubblica station of the Metro, which is one stop from the rail station terminal. If your feet need a break, you can use the metro to reach some of the major sites, including Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and Vatican City. Carry change or small bills, though, to purchase metro tickets from the machines in the stations as the machines will only dispense change totaling four euros or less.

Great Experience in July 2009
We staid at this hotel for 5 nights in July 2009. The location is great: very close to all attractions but not too close so the area is not overcrowded with tourists. It is directly on one of the major streets but the rooms are still very quiet. Management was extremely friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was great and plenty.

Great Location Staff Accomodations Value
Better location than I ever imagined. Easy walk from train station. Surprised how close to all the major sites including Vatican. Metro subway was 2 blocks away that affordably got one quickly across town. I lost a wallet in a taxi (my fault) and the hotel took care of getting it returned with no problems. A big thanks to the helpful staff. Good food choices on Nazionale and side streets. Room was one of the best and breakfast very good. Elevators were a bit slow. A good experience at a good price.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Only Vatican more than a mild walk. Subway a good close option to Vatican.

Excellent service
We chose the Artemide based on location. We had never been to Rome and were a bit unsure of what to expect. The staff was excellent. We arrived about 9 AM and they kept our bags until our room was ready so we could start sight-seeing. They gave us city info & directions, suggested places to eat, and the breakfast included was great. We would not even consider staying anywhere else on future visits. It was also only a few blocks from the train station and very easy to find. Everything was within walking distance. The best part - the staff. It is very hard to find excellent service no matter what country you are in. Well worth the money.

Fabulous experience!
I cant say enough about how great this hotel was, how well located it was and how very gracious the staff was. Our room was upgraded and was lovely, the mini-bar was a plus - it was all great and Id stay there again without a doubt! There was great shopping nearby and it was close enough to the train station yet far enough away. I hope to go there again!
Traveler's tip on dining
On Via Genoa there is a restaurant called Sweet Marys - great food, great prices and wonderful service. The staff was very accommodating and it is close enough to the Artemide hotel for a short walk after dinner!

Would stay there again when in Rome
The helpful staff, hotel location, and very attractive design are the hallmarks of the Hotel Artemide. The hotel is a 10-min walk from Termini train station--we walked right to it our first time. It is also within walking distance of most major sites--10 min. to the Forum/Collesseum; 10 min to Spanish Steps; 10 min to Trevi fountain. The provided breakfast was excellent with very good coffee and pastries along with eggs, fruit, etc.

Excellent location
The location is excellent: Close enough to the train station to walk, but far enough away to be in a better neighborhood and in walking distance to many of Romes tourist sites. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were very good. Out the door and two blocks right was a restaurant that was open at all hours. The room was comfortable and clean. The mini-bar was free of charge, but it was restocked somewhat erratically. We stayed at the Artimide for 5 nights. One morning a sign appeared warning of a power outage planned from 3pm to 5pm; this was a great nuisance because thats when we tended to return tired from a day of sightseeing. A few of the TV channels worked for only 3 of the 5 days. The free internet service is limited to 15 minutes per day and has no printer. Better to pay 12 euros and get unlimited access to the computers in the business center for your entire stay.

Location and front desk/bellmen the best!
We stayed at the Artemide (are teh meed) in April after researching on Expedia and tripadvisor & loved it. Its just a block & a half from Station Termini & Republica metro station. Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain are a nice little walk/one subway stop away. We had fun trying to speak a few Italian phrases & the guys at the front desk played along. They answered every minute question we had (whether it was a recommendation for a great local restaurant - we loved Rinauldis...though ask the price of the special before you order it - or whether bus or subway was the best way to get to the Colosseum. Free breakfast was excellent (ricotta spread on fresh rolls with a side of fruit was my favorite) despite missing it half the time we were there because we slept in. Sunday morning we had our windows open & were woken by church bells chiming. Really made us feel that we were part of the neighborhood. Our only minor complaint was though we had a quiet stay the first 3 nights (wed usually get back to the hotel at midnight and it would be silent), the last night we were treated to a rousing performance by our next-door neighbors. Too bad they were enjoying themselves in Italian or we could have translated some of it;) Why dont hotels have thicker walls?! In terms of non-specific pricing, we got 20% off our package by booking hotel and airfare together...so for a 4 star hotel, it was a great price (even with the lousy exchange rate right now).
Traveler's tip on dining
Go to Trastevere for a night or two! Great people watching, restaurants, shops and "vibe." I had read in one of the guidebooks that its Romes version of Greenwich Village. Theres an adorable neighborhood restaurant down virtually every side street but our favorite was Antica Pesa (reservations required and you should upgrade from your walking-around clothes)...voted #1 by Romans. Everything we ate was amazing.

Excellent Hotel, located in central location
The hotel is exactly as it was on the site. Very clean, staff very friendly. Its location cannot be beat. If you know your way around Rome, you could easily walk to/from the major sites all the way back to the hotel. All the better to burn off all the gelato you consumed during the day. As someone who traveled with an older person, I found the hotel staff to be especially helpful and understanding. I would definately stay there again.
