Location was great
Location was the reason I chose this motel. Worked the Quail Hollow Golf Tournament and the proximity to parking at Carowinds and Ballantyne were within 5 minutes. Room was clean and that’s basically all that I was able to use. Had no time to use any amenities. Overall stay was satisfactory.

Still trying someplace else
I wanted to stay somewhere near Carowinds and try something other than my previous choice. I did like having a refridgerator, but didn’t buy adequate breakfast stuff as the continental breakfast was truely that - a donut and a drink. There are limited restaurants and gas nearby. The hotel is wedged between a railroad track and a quarry. I only heard one train while I was awake, but the trucks were a constant in the morning. I can’t say that I felt very safe at night, but did walk across the street to the gas station in the morning. There are better choices just up the road.

Not too impressed
The only problem I had with the my room was the air conditioner was not working properly. There were not enough towels for everyone and we had railroad tracks right outside our window. Thank God the railword workers were courteous and made as little noise as possible. We had gotten to our room a little earlier than the 2:00 check in time and the woman working the desk was a little put out that we dared to show up too soon.
