good price obtained through expedia,we showed up a day earlier and actually sat in lobby and made our reservation on expedia saving us almost $40.Not many people but were not given an upgrade to balcony room.

Steps to the Heart of Waikiki

Clean. Close to the beach. Fewer dramatic views than a resort right on the beach ,,, but I don’t go to sit in my hotel room for the views. Appears to have been recently renovated.

Decent hotel for the money

Hotel room was renovated recently, which was nice. Bed was comfortable. Liked the fridge and microwave, free internet access, and access to washer/dryer on the same floor. However, we had roaches in our bathroom. The hotel location is in the middle of Waikiki and its loud until 2am or so. Trash trucks then arrive around 5am every morning to wake you up. Parking is very difficult to find in this area, especially during the weekend. There are only a few spots in the hotel parking lot and the lot next door fills up at night. I’d recommend this place if you plan on hanging out in Waikiki at night during your vacation. Otherwise, you might be spending an hour to find parking.

If there is no parking at all, park at the Aqua Island Colony 2 blocks away.

I would go back again...good value

No bell and whitsles. have to ask for coffee, not big deal, Starbucks right down the street. Parking is very limited....call early and be prepared for $20/ day...Still a deal. Very nice staff and helpful. Close to Intl market and one block from beach... weekend night life very distracting, like ploice and fights every Fri night below hotel

The staff Were so nice and helpful., if i go back i would defo go back there. I would recomend to anybody who was going there.

hotel is quite good with big room and nice beds. it is not far from the beach. it will be better if they can also provide breakfast.

Confusion

Not very responsive to requests. This is a new hotel and they are going through teething problems. Wheir sister hotel is the Aqua Wave and is much better organized. I expect this hotel will get it together in the future...

Nice, clean, and quiet hotel...

Nice, clean, and quiet hotel...only thing is the parking, none on site. You must park next door at the Ohana West or across the street at the Ohana East for a fee. Perfect hotel to stay if you need a place to just get out of the heat and relax. Room and bed were comfortable. Good location.

Budget quality hotel clean but cheap

No frills hotel. the rooms were clean but i expected more for an aqua hotel like the other aqua hotel i stayed at last year. it is more like a studio apartment room where you have to bring your own coffee, hair conditioner, etc

The hotel was clean and newly renovated. It was on a street just off the international market and about a 10 minute walk from the beach. It was a very good location. The staff was very nice and attentive. However, since we were on the 2nd floor, it was very noisy sometimes. The trash trucks came by very early in the morning and there were loud people on the street at night. There is almost no parking at the hotel, so we had to park in a lot a couple of blocks away.

It was a great place to stay for the money. There were many options for eating out or shopping at the grocery store to save money.

You won’t sleep, that’s for sure.

We used this hotel as a stop and go in Honolulu. We were given a room facing the rear parking. The Hotel was recently refurbished and I must say the room was clean and ok at a first glance. But we soon realized that the a/c was horribly noisy and didn’t cool at all. We have switched it off, but the noise of the other hundreds (!) of the other rooms were right into our ears. We had to sleep with the ear taps. Plus, people kept on coming in at late night , and due to the windows of the room placed on the external aisle the situation became critical. In other words, we didn’t sleep. Awful place were to stay, especially if you need to regenerate your jetlag. The next morning, one of the two very slow elevators was not working. I was happy to leave on the eraly morning.

Can’t wait to go back to Hawaii but wouldn’t stay there or recommend it.

The hotel was clean but they don’t give you daily amenities I had to ask for shampoo and soap, they don’t give you conditioner. there was no pool and on the web site there was. It was clean and good especially if you weren’t there to lounge by a pool or if you weren’t planning on spending time in the hotel. but other than that not great and there was no parking I didn’t know you had to reserve a parking spot in advance. we had to park 2 blocks over, but parking was cheaper there than the hotel. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The hotel is centrally located to everything and close, inexpensive and again good if you plan on not staying in the hotel a lot.

Never Again

I had heard some good things about the Aqua Hotels, but this "new" addition to their family was a nightmare. The hotel is in a great location..close to the beach, restaurants and shopping, but the hotel itself was an experience in misery. It was the noisiest week I have ever experienced in my life. You are awakened by the garbage trucks at the crack of dawn and are lulled to sleep by the screams and partying of the people in the parking lot and the apartment complex next door. The wall unit...yes wall unit...air-conditioner drowns out some of the noise, but it sounds like a tractor trailer backing in through your window, so it’s a lose-lose situation. Be careful if your arrive in the evening because they lock the door and if you need to check in at night you could spend quite a while banging on the door trying to awaken the desk clerk "on duty". There are so many other hotels in Waikiki to chose from...I’ve learned my lesson and I definitely will not be staying at this hotel when I return to Hawaii this winter.

It’s not worth the money you save...spend a little extra for a more pleasant stay at a better hotel.

Not Impressed

The room itself wasnt bad, a good size for two people. The a/c was horrible horrible horrible, never cooled down any cooler than the outside temperature. We were woken up by outside noise all night long plus the parking lot was sold out, really???? they sent us next door where we got a parking slot but that is not the point. If you do feel the need to stay here i would suggest requesting a room with a view of the parking lot so that way you dont get the street noise.

The only downfall was that this hotel does not have a swimming pool...

There’s a food pantry close by to buy groceries..

Pleasant Stay

Staying at Aqua Waikiki Pearl you get a pretty good bargain. The view is about the worst part of the hotel. But it’s clean and the location is great.

Traveler's tip on dining

Make sure before you dine out that you check with the locals or desk receptionist. Aqua Waikiki Pearl was located in a great location near dining and shopping. Make sure you visit Pearl Harbor, the tour is free and it’s educational.

Clean room, convenient location

The exteria of this hotel is not so great, (It looks like an old condominium building) but the room is very clean and spacious. It is close to waikiki beach and all the famous stores. For the price, I think it was a good deal.
