Great spot

Had a great stay. We had a problem when we checked in regarding the room. I booked a room with a view and didn’t get it. I talked with someone at the front desk and was immediately accomodated to suite. I didn’t expect that but what a great surprise. Staff has improved greatly over the past visits. The beach at the Cove and Paradise beach are stunning. Definitely will go back again.

Wish I had More Vacation Time

We had booked a last minute getaway and were a little worried about doing that. Turned out to be the best way to do it The hotel gave us a free upgrade We had a view of the ocean and the pool There was so much to do there The concierge service was very helpful for making dinner reservations and Every employee was polite and very willing to help We had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins Dont miss doing this! The shower pressure was great and the beds were firm but comfortable Each room has a balcony outside and there is the sound of running water from all the landscaping streams We could see them feeding the sharks from our room in the AM(The sharks are in an enclosed environment- Don’t worry!) There is a computer area in the library where you can print your boarding passes for the return trip!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Drinks and food are VERY expensive! We packed breakfast food and lots of water to save money and were glad we did. The pizza place on the ground floor has good pizza for a cheap dinner

wasn’t ready

We checked in at the correct time and was told our room was ready only to get up there and nothing had been done to the room. We then went out on the ground while they cleaned it. There was no "sorry" or anything.

Definitely going back

The Atlantis is amazing....everything I expected it to be (including overprices ex. $3 for a can of soda, $7.50 for a slice of pizza, $22 for two ice-creams, buffet dinner at the MarketPlace: 1 adult/1 child $71.30, breakfast for two $35) Get the mealplan. Or stay at the Comfort Suites, right next door, and you get all the amenities of Atlantis plus, a continental breakfast. If you don’t mind spending the money, then stay at one of the Atlantis Hotels. It is an experience of a lifetime. Turns out, the month of September is their slow season so they close the Beach Tower down. I was upgraded, no charge, to the Coral Tower. There is no doubt about it, the whole resort is gorgeous but if you stay that the Beach Tower, you do have a little bit of a walk to the Water Park.

Great resort for family activities, not so good room rate and condition!

Atlantis hotel situates in beautiful caribean sea and has lots of water activities for both adult and children, thus a great place for family vacation. However, room condition is poor and beds sagged in the middle. The people there are not so courteous and was extremely rude on occasions (experienced in Carmine’s restaurant and Taxi service). Price of food and dinning was very expensive! I would recommend this hotel to other just because it offers lots of things to do, but not because of room condition and the service provided.

Bring simple food for young children such as cereal and snack, and sun screens (you will need alot!). These simple items are very expensive to purchase there.

One of my top vacation spots !

This was my 15th trip to the Bahamas and I go back to the time when the Atlantis was the Britania Beach. It has improved beyond imagination and I will be returning soon. It is a magnificent place to see and really relax. It is one of my top spots and the one that I have travelled to the most.

Better than expected!

Hotel was excellent. Room was larger than expected with sitting area and ocean view. Very clean and well kept up. Lots to see and do. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. Great Vacation!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Stores across the street from Marina have cheaper water, soda, etc. Bring some snacks. My son took the powerboat excursion and loved it. Went to "Fish Fry." Was pretty good.

Great deal! Stay in the beach tower and save money.

The hotel rome was better than we expected. We didn’t have very high expectations though. Location was great and the only complaint is just the price of food at hotel.

Great for families, awesome resort to visit

Atlantis is the place to be! Beach Towers is definitely for families with children; basic room amenities, nice resort/ocean view; friendly staff; lovely beaches; bring snorkel gear! Can’t review casino (neither me nor wife are gamblers); food is great, but obviously overpriced (eat at Market Place [buffet!]) Obvious attraction of the water park is so much fun and the lines are never really that long and the Aquarium is very nice; there are animal exhibits spread throughout the resort. Dolphin Swim is very overpriced; book with 3rd party instead.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Bring some snacks, your own sunscreen, own waterproof cameras

Loved It - Again

This was our second trip. We loved it again. We were actually upgraded to the Coral Tower this time. Last time we were upgraded from a courtyard to an ocean view in the Beach Tower.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There are a couple of souvenir shops across the street - just a short walk to get sodas and snacks and water bottles a little cheaper than the mini bar in the room.

We will definitely go back!

This resort is HUGE! I felt like the waterpark and the Royal Towers were so far away from us. They’re not! Depending on how fast of a walk you want to take, it took us about 5 minutes to get over to the Mayan Pool. We walked over via the outside bridge and not through the casino and convention center. Note that you must be at least 48 in. to ride the slides, but there was still a lot for my 3 year old. The Mayan Pool has mini water slides. My 7 year old enjoyed the Leap of Faith! I did it once and it was quite scary! If you are going to swim, don’t forget to bring your room key. Each day a new wristband is issued to only those who show their room key. I did pack one carry-on full of snacks and breakfast-type foods, and we had our taxi driver stop at the grocery store so I could buy water, Coke, Gatorade, etc. We packed two pop-up coolers in our luggage and we just used the ice machine at the hotel everyday to keep our drinks cool. One day I decided I wanted a "fruity" drink by the pool and it cost me $12!!! Yes, twelve dollars for one drink! I have to close with how impressed we were with the level of courtesy from the resort staff. Everyone was so friendly. It truly was a wonderful summer vacation!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

When you pack your luggage make sure you pack a couple of pop-up coolers. After you check-in at the resort, go over to the convenience stores and the liquor store right across from the resort to purchase your drinks, snacks, etc. All the liquor stores (except for one that is across from the Hilton on Nassau) are closed on Sundays. A 15% gratuity is already included on meals/drinks!!! If you order from Domino’s Pizza they do not take credit cards.

loved it

One of the best vacations my wife and I have ever been on. Not only is the bahamas beautiful, but the Atlantis enhances that beauty by providing it’s guest with the most stunning beaches, aquariums, restaurants, and shops. If its your first time going to the bahamas, you MUST stay at the Atlantis.

Traveler's tip

While staying at the Atlantis, make sure you pick up some snacks and drinks at the small markets just outside the resort, walking distance, and plan your days to give you ample time to take advantage of all the resort has to offer, water slides, aquariums, cigar luanges, and bars. You can get good cuban Cohibas and enjoy them at the classy cigar luange while enjoying your favorite drink. Wonderful place, DO NOT spend all your time in the casino, much more to see and experience.

Ultimate Beach & Pool Hotel

This is our second time to Atlantis and it has expanded sooo big...more beautiful beaches, pool, and waterslides. Atlantis is the ultimate hotel and I’ve been to many including Cancun, Hawaii, Jamaica. Must stay in Atlantis if you’re going to Bahamas. Rates are good compared to 3 yrs ago due to the economy. Our 2 kids (6,9) loves it! Calm beaches w/no waves. Bring your snorkling eqpmt...nice fishys. Food is expensive. Taxi across the bridge is $20 roundtrip so just eat at the hotel or in the Marina. Always some convention going so you may see celebrities.

Eat at the hotel or the Marina...expensive but safe for kids. Take a ferry ($6 rdtrip/person) to Nassau for a few hrs and have lunch and shopping. Cheaper to use the taxi ($38 for 4 people) from/to the airport.

Service Sucks

Even though this is a well-built and entertaining hotel, the service that comes with it just doesn’t cut it. Their ’service was down’ for over 5 hours and told us to wait in the lobby with 30 other customers that were also impatiently waiting. They did not do anything to make up for it. When you go eat at the Atlantis’ restaurants the gratuity is already included so the wait staff don’t even try to give you service. They were really rude and spoiled our fun, and also ignore you for a while if they think you won’t tip as well as others. For as much money as I am spending, I deserve to get for what I’m paying for.

Traveler's tip on dining

Do not go eat at the Atlantis. It is way overpriced and the service along with the food is horrible.

Awesome

Everything was wonderful during our stay at the Atlantis. The staff was especially helpful and no one was rude to us, as I had read in reviews before our trip. The whole experience was truly great! The food in the hotel restaurants was very pricey. We enjoyed watching a free movie at the theatre in the motel.

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat at the Marina Village! It is more reasonable for families than the hotel restaurants and the food is delicious!

Great Stay

We had 3 rooms in Beach Tower. The rooms were large & very clean. Everyone we encountered was helpful & pleasant. Yes, it’s expensive - you’re on a resort island! The grounds are kept clean. A very enjoyable experience!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

We brought breakfast foods with us, had lunch along the beach (look for values meals on the menu boards!!) and dinners at the less expensive restaurants. The Patio was a walk from the main area, but the entertainment Fri. nite was worth it! The Bimini was also great- try the conch chowder.

Wonderful hotel but aquarium needs maintenance

Really loved the hotel and pools. The cave aquarium area was not clean and needs TLC. Would definitely like to go to Atlantis again.

Traveler's tip on dining

The restaurants were very expensive. Next time we go I will explore alternatives.

Cant wait to go back!

Atlantis has everything a vacationer would need right at their hotel. Beaches, snorkeling, water rides, slides, plenty of pools. The Dig. Bar Lounges. Food was typical hotel vacation food, mediocre and expensive at best. Not worth getting the Casual Dining Plan. The Current was awesome! Cant wait to go back!

Traveler's tip

Bring your own stuff from home: IE waterproof cameras, sun screen etc. Casual Dining Plan, not worth it. Too much food; Appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert- each person. By the way the 15% gratuites not included on the CDP.
