Good Service but bad maintenance

II along with my family stayed 3 days in the west wing of the hotel in late Oct09. Got a good deal from expedia and the room was bigger than our expectations. But the main problem with the room was its shabbiness while floor mattress infront of the restroom was always been wet due to some leakages. Hotel needs a good refurbishing. Despite several complains, hotel authority did little to fix the problems. Though the hotel was close to the twin tower, we were not privileged to have that view from our room. Staffs are delightful but not equally active. I had to call them many times in two weeks time after leaving the hotel for releasing the blocked amount in credit card. Next time I would probably stay in a different hotel more closer to Bukit Bintang.

Really good hotel

Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel was really enjoyable. We had two rooms on the 19th floor with view of Petronas. Cleaners twice a day were almost too nice. I am glad we chose this hotel for our stay in KL.

Over rated hotel

The hotel looks old from outside, and the service was not up to a level I expected from this hotel name. The room is out dated. Bathroom lighting is too dim, its wall tiles and shower curtain look old. There is no internet connection. Worst of all, the bed was so unconfortable, the matress was way too soft, the white blanket and pillows look dark and old. I will never go back again.

Traveler's tip

Take train across the street instead of taxi as this hotel is located on the corner of heavy traffic streets.

Would expect more

Been to Kuala Lampur several times before.Would expect more from a Marriot hotel.Hotel is not very well keep especially the room.Very dusty and Burn marks from iron all over the Floor as well as Mold growing in bathtub and Caulk/tiles. Stayed there because of son-4 years old and the pool. The pool was freezing even with the outside temp being near 90 degrees F.Would recommend the Mand. Oriental highly over this Hotel.Never would stay there again

Another Great KL Hotel

The Renaissance Kuala Lumpur is another one of those excellent hotels that you can find in the heart of KL that will cost you far, far less than if you had stayed in the same class of hotel in Singapore, London or New York. First class hotel, excellent service and thoroughly recommended.

Had a very nice time

The Renaissance KL was a very good choice of hotel for my trip. It is located in a nice central area within walking distance of several places that I had selected to visit during my stay. The room was very comfortable just like any hotel in America. The grounds and pool were amazing.

I would go bakc and stay on the same hotel if ever I will be in KL again

The hotel is a good one with all the staff very courteous and helpful at all times. Services are good at the same time as well as room service is perfect. I can’t resist but recommend the same hotel to my other friends and colleagues once to be there in KL. My greatful thanks to the hotel management for such a wonderful stay.

Two-sided hotel

This hotel has an east and west side. We stayed on the west side, which has a European feel. Our friends stayed on the east side, which I believe is more "asian." Both of us were equally happy with our accommodations, so just pick the one that sounds best to you, and you will not be disappointed. Room service prices were reasonable, and you can get western, middle eastern, or asian food off the menu on both sides of the hotel.

I wouldn’t say that KL is a very kid-friendly town in terms of activities (or even the condition of the sidewalks for stroller usage!), but everyone in the hotel seemed to make a special effort to acccommodate us and our baby.

Simply fantastic for the price

This is a very high class hotel for a three star rating. I could not believe how nice it was when we arrived. And to top it all off, we had the most amazing view of the Petronas Towers! The pool is huge, the services are great, the place is spotless. The rates were very affordable, except for the dining options which were all expensives, but the mall at the base of the towers is only a few minutes away and has a great food court and restaurants. I bet you would never get this kind of hotel for the price back home -- wherever home is.

great hotel for the price and location but ...

This hotel is great if you are planning to stay in the KLCC area. Comfortable clean and quite luxurious. But..... 1. Getting in and out of this area by taxi is a pain during peak hours. 2. If you are here sightseeing be aware that the concierge is always pushing for the "tour service". I checked with other sources and found cheaper options than what they provide. 3. Also, Domestic calls from your room are expensive and charged by the minute. Overall I would recommend this hotel for the price/amenties.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Take a taxi from outside the hotel. It seems cheaper. Take the train to couple of stations out and then take a taxi.
