The most amazing service, staff and atmosphere!!!

Thank you people from Taj Mahal for your amazing service! you made our trip PERFECT!! Mr.Mohit, Mr.Vikas, Chef Gagal, Ms.Amrita and their colleagues, your level of professionalism is beyond words! The food at the MASALA ART is the best indian foor we EVER had and the ORIENT EXPRESS is the most exquisite and romantic food experience. we came back home so sad for leaving but so happy for having met the soul of INDIA in the people we had the honor to meet in TAJ PALACE Thank you all for making our trip the most memorable! We will always think of you with warm hearts!

Traveler's tip on dining

Try the MASALA ART and watch the chefs cooking at their cooking table. Orient Express is a journey through food for soul and body! their chocolate melting cake is dangerously addictive!!!

Very Comfortable - Excellent Customer Service

We stayed in the club-level of the Taj. They are in the process of making a separate Club level lounge. Since it is still under construction, the Club level gets you complimentary coffee/tea and some snacks in the Cafe on the main level. This came in handy. The was very comfortable and clean and the staff was excellent.

A big disappointment for the money

I had paid for a club room at the Taj, specifically to have access to the amenities of the Club lounge. The room we were allocated was very nice, but the Club lounge was being refurbished, immediately below our room. So not only did we not have the perks of the Club lounge, but we had hammering and drilling all day between the hours of 9am - 8pm. The staff in general were very aloof, and one particular individual at the front desk was frankly rude to us when we tried to complain about the noise. The hotel itself is very pleasant, although the outside is in need of new paint and some sort of deterrent to pigeons. On the plus side, the buffet breakfasts in the cafe were excellent. The hotel cars are also relatively inexpensive, and are well worth hiring for a few hours to take in the sights. In particular we liked Praveen, who was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable driver. However, overall I would have expected a lot more from a hotel of this calibre, particularly given the hefty price tag. I also think that we should have been informed of the club lounge renovations beforehand, as I would have gone for a basic room if we had been told that the lounge would be unavailable to us.
