Clean, good breakfast, but during our check in the lady in the reception desk asked for extra guest price although I paid it via expedia. When I said look carefully to my voucher, she called somewhere and they talked in portugese and after she said yes you are right.

Stay away!

I had stayed at this hotel a couple of times before primarily of its location. This was the first time that I stayed since the major renovation. The rooms are attractive and comfortable. Unfortunately, that’s the end of the positives. Every single amenity or service is charged to the guests at outrageous prices. To visit the swimming pool or the gym, one has to pay the "spa" fee. The spa is a joke. The iced tea and cold water is not replaced all day. Once the ice melts, the tea tastes like pee and nothing is done about it. When I asked what deposit I would need to pay to take one of the pool’s towels to the beach, I was quoted a figure that would be enough to buy 3-4 beach towels in the shopping center across the street. The charges for internet use in the hotel verge on highway robbery. Finally, do not (I repeat, do NOT) use the room phone. I made less than 10 calls within Portugal and was charged around 250 euros! When I complained, I was told that, In Portugal, it is very expensive to make calls from land lines to cell phones. However, I found out that the hotel was routing the calls through a cell phone! Do NOT even use the phone to make a reservation for a restaurant. What a rip-off!
