Very friendly place
We needed a hotel for our first night after flying from the Midwest to Scotland for two weeks. This was perfect for us four seniors who didnt want to pick up a car and tackle the highways till wed slept. It also filled the bill for checking out the famous architecture as well as hopping on buses to tour the city. Good restaurants in the neighborhood too. The staff were exceptionally helpful and caring.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Walk to the Willow Tearoom, Art School and other Charles Rennie Mackintosh venues.

Worth a look inside
Planning a quick one night stay in Glasgow before returning home, we wanted convenience and economy. The ABode is central to food, entertainment, shopping and transportation. Overnight parking is very expensive, but comparable to the rest of UK. The exterior looks like an old building but the inside is amazing. It is like walking into a rich Parisian apartment building, complete with the central iron elevator most Americans only see in movies. It is an example of the height of Scotttish iron building architecture of the 19th century. Our small room was stylish and comfortable, with a wonderful bed and lotions. Slept well and next time we want to have a larger room. Didnt have time to visit the restaurant, but would have liked to after speaking with the chef in the lobby. The staff is so very helpful. A unique place worthy of a second trip.
Traveler's tip on dining
The theater is nearby and early dinner specials are available at small restaurants close to the central train station.
