no internet
The only reason Ive booked a night there was because it says free Internet included - indeed full 30min were included. Wow! Unfortunately, nobody knew how to activate it for me. In whole New Zealand, it seems to be further future to use the Internet. The Hotel seems old and kind of out of order. The location is not bad, it is next to the famous Geyser - but the lovely town with all the restaurants and shops is quite far away. And the swimming pool appears in a condition like in a B-Horror Movie. Price is okay tho.

Unhelpful management
Though this hotel offers great views of the geyser and mudpools in nearby Te Puia, its management does not live up to its advertisements. Hotel bookers beware of their "packages" on their own website (not Expedia) as they may let you book them but then when you show up, blame it on a website defect and not honor it.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
I would definitely go to Offroad NZ, check out Agroventures and the Zorb. If you dont, youll regret it!

Excellent location but advertised free internet not available (at any price)
The hotel is very well located with a view of the Geysers and mud pots from most rooms in "8xx" wing. Rooms were comfortable and clean if a little tired. Note however that despite the listing of free in-room internet access, it was not available at all in rooms and only at a price via WiFi in hotel public areas. Other than this, I was pleased with the hotel and would stay again.
