Not in the best location for touring the city
The hotel was acceptable but a bit modern for our tastes. We had a problem with our heater blowing the circuit breaker which we had to call maintance on once then I reset it 6 more times after I saw how to do it. There were decent restaurants with in walking distance and a wonderful internet coffee shop for breakfast and lunch on the corner of the hotel . The hotel is away from the main upper city where all the history and shops are which we would have prefered being close to. Overall the hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly

A little touch of Euro
I got exactly what I wanted from my stay at the PUR and more. It was this cool, trendy hotel with minimalist design and modern rooms. I took advantage of the free cappucinnos on a daily basis and printed out maps from the free computers. The PUR is still a bit of a work in progress, for example they were working on the restaurant when we stayed there. St.Roche is a fresher, hipper area you can really explore. If I hadnt stayed there, I may have only breezed through it. There were plenty of restaurants to take advantage of. Also check out Benjo-an upscale store for children.
Traveler's tip on dining
There is the cutest crepe place up the street (heading towards the library). It is called Jamais Vu (never seen) and the owner is really kind and gave us great tips. Also, try Versa. Their desserts are fantastique.

Awesome
My wife and I were extremely pleased with our stay here in the end of August. Everyone was courteous and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We walked to Upper Town everyday which was a nice 15 min stroll. We were lucky to have perfect weather when we were there so I could imagine it being a challenge during the winter or for the elderly to make the trek. But hey thats not the hotels fault.
