Poor service

While the location of the Sir Christopher Wren’s House hotel is excellent, right on the Thames, and close to the sights of Windsor, and the public rooms are historic and tasteful, the hotel leaves much to be desired as far as service. Upon checking in, we were not warmly greeted and were told that one of our two rooms would be in another location. When we explained this was not acceptable, we were grudgingly found another room. We were given terrible directions to a public carpark and not told we needed change there. Enquiries about local attractions were met by a blank stare. The service at tea was very marginal (and tea for seven us of was very expensive.) The only pleasant employee we encountered was a very kind and helpful bellboy. I would like to recommend this hotel, but cannot unless they seriously upgrade and train their staff.

Down on its heels

Our room was in great need of refurbishing. The restaurant in the hotel was lovely.
