Older hotel with great staff, fair rooms
This hotel is a sprawling "motel". Our room was only fair and several things did not work. However, we called maintenance upon checkin and the problems were fixed immediately. The maintenance man even fixed a couple of things we had not mentioned. The dining room was good. Service throughout the hotel was excellent. With a little TLC, this could be a first class hotel.

Be sure to see the bat flights at Carlsbad Caverns in the evening, and, of course, tour the caverns.

Staff was response to forgotten imenities was nothing less than excellent. The room was large and comfortable and clean. The swimming pool was great. The only drawback was that the ice machine near my section was not working (maybe the 100 degree temperature), but there were others close by. Did I mention the staff was excellent.

Carlsbad Caverns is a great place to see when in the area. So is the Living Desert Musuem.
