General Information
What to expect: The Avenue Plaza Resort's lobby—a narrow, marble-lined hall—bustles with vacationers and business travelers. The brick-lined breezeway leads into a large stone courtyard dominated by lush landscaping and furnished with cast-iron furniture.
Amenity highlights: Guests have access to a ground-floor outdoor swimming pool as well as a rooftop sundeck with a 360-degree view of the city.
Insider tip: The antebellum Ashley House, built in the 1840s, is located behind the resort. It reportedly served as a boarding house for Confederate prisoners of war.
Property Amenities
This New Orleans resort has its own restaurant, which also functions as a lounge and serves American cuisine, with a touch of local favorites (red beans, gumbo). Room service is not provided. Avenue Plaza Resort features a courtyard with an outdoor swimming pool on the landing to the Ashley House, an antebellum home that is owned by the resort.
