excellent location for shopping

Sheraton is as expected. great location and services. We’re in Sydney for Christmas and did boxing day shopping. The location is excellent to every store. We would stay again.

Beautiful

Loved everything about this hotel. Both the lobby and the rooms were beautiful and the location was great. My only complaint was that we requested two double beds and upon arrival were told that we had to take one king bed. This was the only hotel on our two week trip that couldn’t provide two beds. Although in all fairness, we did stay there on a Friday night. Just wish we would’ve known in advance.

Would definately stay there again .The convenience of all stores and attractions made it so easy to get around.Only complaint was the food was SUPER expensive.bUT we ate at all eateries close to the hotel.Easy walk to Darling Harbor and 15 min walk to Circular Quay.Buses right outside the door and they have the greatest transportation system. 5 star in our option

Circular Quay, Darling Harbor,.Manly and a trip to Bondi make it a city to remember.Taronga Zoo, jet ride in the harbor for the strong hearted ones ,Paddy’s Market, these are great.We can’t think of anything we didn’t like in Sydney except , it is a very EXPENSIVE City. Think about getting the.... Sydney and Beyond smart Card ... ,it took the stress out of finding tours etc.and saved us big bucks.great value.

Great Sydney Getaway!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton on the Park. The room was perfect, the view of Hyde Park exceptional, breakfast unbelievable, and our memories of our Australia ideal. The hotel and staff helped to make this happen. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the great "down under". Ken March

Great location

This was a great location, centrally located, easy to get to everything, close to the railway, walking distance to everything on a clear day. The hotel was beautiful, great customer service. The concierge gave us wonderful suggestions for tours, food, everything we asked for and we were never disappointed. The executive level lounge was the best part - convenient for checking e-mail, looking at a wonderful view and gorgeous sunsets. Would definitely stay there again.

Totally impressed!

Upon entering the room we were amazed by the quality of all the furnishings. The bed was more comfy than our own, and the room was impeccably clean. The concierge was highly attentive, and friendly. The local was central to anywhere you would want to go, and it was right next to Hyde Park, which was beautiful.

Perfect Sydney location

Sheraton on the park is a wonderful hotel located in the heart of the great city near the parks, shopping and more. Rooms aren’t plush, but offer all you would need and the staff is excellent.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Sydney Harbor Bridge climb should not be missed. A singular experience that will leave you talking for a long time. Plan on nearly four hours, but it’s worth it. You can find info on google.

You can’t do much better

If it fits at all I’d recommend the upgrade to the "executive lounge" which gets you a nice buffet breakfast, free wifi, snacks in the early evening, a place to go get a cup of coffee or whatever most of the day, etc. You might even meet someone interesting. The room was very nice. I’m not sure what the code is for "yes, I like my wash towels", sometimes they disappeared though I just got some from the staff in the hall, minor. Centrally located, easy walk to downtown or ferry or circular quay, even to Harry’s Cafe de Wheels. Nice place, I’d stay there again without a second thought. Now, the 21+ hour flight...but that’s for another review.

Great stay.

Our stay at the Sheraton on the Park was great. The room and the bathroom were perfect. The hotel has free WiFi in the lobby and four computers for guest’s use. As for the service and the staff I had two very different experiences. When asked for directions, some girl on the front desk seemed really annoyed. I am sorry, but when you work in a hotel, a lot of people won’t be from town so they will obviously need directions. In the other hand, one time the hotel’s Internet was not working and I really needed to check my email and print a booking confirmation for later in the day, the concierge went out of his way to let me quickly check my email in the concierge’s own computer, printed it out and sent it to my room (since we were running late and had to go)! When we got to our room later in the day, the printout was there already. If you are not having a full breakfast at the hotel, there is a convenience store and a Starbucks at the corner. Even Woolworth’s is nearby. The hotel has a great location, we walked everywhere! Darling Harbour is maybe 10 min. walking (where the Aquarium also is). Right across the sreet there is a bus stop, to go to Bondi Beach, for example (but buy your tickets from a convenience store, you can’t buy them from the driver in Elizabeth St.). Sydney Tower and the Botanic Gardens are also within a short walking distance.

Go to Darling Harbour for lunch. It has many restaurants and it is walking distance from the hotel. When you are there, go to the Maritime Museum, it’s free! At the Sydney Tower you can also buy the ticket for the Aquarium and save 20% off both! Also, if you are a student and want to go to a show on the Opera, go to the ticket office at daytime, best availble seats are $25AUD ($90AUD seats are available for $25AUD!).

Convenient location and very enjoyable stay

For the quality and service, it was an excellent hotel for the price I paid. It is very centrally loacted and convenient to shops (e.g. David Jones), banks and restaurants (walking distance to Tetsuya and many good western and Chinese restaurants.

Great hotel, location, and service, but expensive Internet access

We simply loved this hotel. We arrived early in the morning on the first day, but they were able to give us a room right away. We were upgraded to a corner room with a view of the park and the room was very spacious. The location was fantastic, just across from the park and within walking distance of the Australia Museum, Darling Harbor and lots of shopping. The only downside was having to pay AUD30 per day for Internet access in the room. They do provide an Internet cafe in the lobby, but I am used to hotels providing free in-room Internet access.

The Galeries Victoria two blocks away has a basement food court with a wide selection of food stalls. The Thai food stall was our favorite.

Excellent hotel... highly recommend

Everything was just about perfect except that you could hear doors slam shut while trying to sleep. Staff polite and helpful, rooms were very nice, good location, FREE INTERNET in the lobby. Ultimate bonus: a very nice gym and pool that was available to use 24 hours.

Like I say, if you are into gyms, this place has a very nice one for a hotel. Also, if you want a microwave brought to your room, they will do it for free

Tranquility At Your Doorstep

The Sheraton on the Park in Sydney was a beautiful and comfortable hotel. I was thoroughly impressed and treated exceptionally. Staff greeted me immediately upon my arrival and my room requests were met without question. I was in a King Room with a city via away from the elevator on the 20th floor. My room was quite spacious, warmly decorated and the bathroom luxurcious. Internet services were available in the lobby for guests as well as printing without charge. I only ate in the Botanica Brasserie once for the breakfast buffet which provided two options, full breakfast or continental. I choose continental which was more than expected and food prepared beautifully. The Conservatory Bar is a wonderful, relaxing place to rest after a busy day of touring, and enjoy wine in great company. I walked from the hotel everywhere with ease, upscale shopping just steps away, both Circular Quay and Darling Harbor within a 15 minute walk, and plenty of options for dining all over. I would definitely stay here again.

Lots of local Sydney attractions just 15 minutes from the Sheraton On The Park. Sydney Tower literally across the street on Market, The Strand Arcade also down the street. If you want the thrill of adventure and an opportunity to so something surreal, Climb The Sydney Bridge with Bridgeclimb. Incredible experience and views to take your breath away.

A couple of advices/Great hotel

While one can get a good deal with this great hotel (thanks, Expedia), it is the hotel for fat pockets. Everything inside costs tripple more than outside. If you need some water or snack, 7-11 by the next corner is 3 times cheaper. Many bistros around will give you breakfast for 1/4 of the hotel price. One more advice, be careful with views. I staid on the 15th floor overlooking another building construction about 50 feet away from me, so all I viewed was construction workers starting drilling on the 15th floor in front of me at 7 am. Spend a few more bucks and book a "Park View" option. Otherwise, it is an absolutely great hotel with a perfect location. Sauna, steam room, pool on the roof....wow!

Don’t dine or use mini-bar in the hotel, get out. Internet in the lobby is free.

central location , comfortable and stylish too

very comfortable,clean,and stylish room made our one week stay very enjoyable. The complimentary use of the internet was a bonus. Breakfast would have been nice, since we stayed for so many days.
