Hotel with history in a great location
We were not sure what to expect after reading mixed reviews. We found the hotel to be perfect for us. It had a museum quality and was rich with history, built in 1500. It had a great location, a block from St Peters Bascilica. Transportation close by, and easy walking to other sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Continental Breakfast was good, rooms were old but clean. I would return.
Arrange with the Vatican for the Scavi tour.

Small bathrooms and Hot Rooms
We went the end of October when the seasons change. They pur the steam heat radiators on and the rooms gpt VERY hot. We had to open the window and bugs got in which bit us. The location was great, near the Vatican. Bathrooms were SMALL. Shower was miniscule but you could use it. Would recommend the hotel but people should know the above.

Great Service & Location
Hotel is in a prime spot for visiting Rome and the Vatican. Located about 100 yds from the Vatican and Castel St Angelo. There are also bus stops right across the street that you can jump on to take over to the see the sites on the other side of the river. Hotel staff was very helpful, even recommending restaurants that were great! Room was remarkeably large compared to others I have stayed in Europe. Only downfall for me is the size of the shower! Overall we had a great stay and would stay there again.
