OK - Not Great
The staff was friendly, helpful. Whoever thought building a hotel backing up to railroads tracks was a good idea was wrong. Also, limited nearby restaurants was a pain. The cost was fair, all things considered.
There’s a great neighborhood bar nearby with good bar grub. Ask at the desk.

Repeat customer
This was our second year for the Comfort Inn Downtown. Room was not fancy, but adequate for the price. We stayed for eight nights and were very satisfied with the accommodations. The free breakfast buffet was well maintained and tasty. The room showed some signs of wear, but was clean and everything worked. The commute to downtown venues was fairly short and not nearly as much a hassle as previous years when we stayed at a hotel on Northwest Freeway. The hotel sits between a railroad and the freeway, so might be a challenge for light sleepers, but the three of us had no issues. Will definitely stay here again when returning to Houston.
