Our new hotel choice in Hong Kong

Great hotel in an excellent location. The room was perfect. It was newly renovated, modern and up to date. The room was slightly smaller than an average 5 star hotel. However, the renovated room more than made up for the smaller size. My husband and I have been to Hong Kong multiple times and we will definitely stay there on all future trips.

Great location, perfect for our family

Fantastic for our family. we requested an interconnecting room and got one which was so good with three children under 10. Great size, kids loved it. Would definitely go back there to a lovely friendly hotel.

Depends on the room...

The Langham is very conveniently located. The hotel itself is a little bit worn and dated and we wished that they would get rid of the strong rose perfume in the lobby. The upper floors had very nice, modern rooms. However, there is strange feature of a window and blind between room and bathroom. It is completely private, however, if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the room is illuminated, waking up the other occupants in the room. We stayed on the 3rd floor on our return journey (we left for China for a few days and returned back to the Langham). It was not a great experience- loud and lower quality room. Very worn and old. However, when we mentioned this to management, they were very accomodating and upgraded us back to the better rooms on the higher floors. Overall, a decent stay with great, central location. The rooftop pool was a plus.

Great Location

This hotel is right in the center of Tsim Sha Tsui and very close to Star Ferry and MTR. So much shopping right outside and it has a nice pool/gym.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Canton Rd has alot of shopping.

Excellent Hotel

Stayed at Langham for two nights on way back from Australia. Outstanding hotel, fabulous rooms, excellent staff. Has top notch restaurants in hotel as well. Quite high end, so expensive, but great all the same. Central to shops and easy access for ferry to HK. Definitely recommend - will return for a longer stay.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Great location for shopping and sightseeing.

Very impressed but...

We really enjoyed our recent 10 day stay at the Langham. The reception staff did the hard sell when we checked in and for a small increase in room rate we did upgrade. It is hard to say if this was money well spent as we didn’t get an opportunity to see the original room but one of the selling points was that we would be on a higher floor - what good this did us is debateable as the only view was of the office block next door unless we pressed our cheeks to the window and got a glimpse of the water one way and the street the other way. The room itself was great as was the bathroom and our only complaint was that there was only one arm chair and the room didn’t get vacuumed very often if at all during our stay. We only had breakfast at the hotel once and wouldn’t recommend this at all (suspiciously we were both a little unwell after eating there but who knows if what we ate was the cause). One of the best things was how central the hotel was - very close to Natham Rd and the Star Ferry so it was really easy the get around. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and we would recommend it to anyone staying in Hong Kong.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Hong Kong has become a mecca for the well heeled who like to shop in the very upmarket designer shops and it is very hard to find the bargains that used to make Hong Kong a shoppers paradise for the ’ordinary’ shopper although it is still fun looking!! Even the street market food stalls are relatively expensive compared to a few years ago.

We will definitely stay at Langham again when in HongKong

The hotel staff are all very nice, polite and courteous. Every hotel guest is treated special. I will definitely stay at Langham when in Hongkong again. Very close all places I would go like Star Ferry terminal, Ocean Centre, Harbour City, MTR station, Nathan Road and all good restaurants. The room is always well kept

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There are good restaurants outside for a very decent price. Book early to get a good price.

Service is absolutely tops

The hotel is attractive, in a great location, and has all the amenities you might want, including terrific restaurants (Tang Court). Its the service that separates the Langham, however. They not only respond quickly but anticipate your needs.

Well kept secret, until now

If you have been to this hotel you will surely come back again and again. Its excellent location is gravy to the 5-star service, excellent rooms, and attention to detail of its staff. But as I was checking out after a very pleasant stay two weeks ago, the check out counter--no, the whole lobby--was crowded by tourist groups checking in, turning the otherwise beautiful and quiet lobby into a sight normally seen in those big name 3-star hotel chains.

Great Hotel in a Great Location

Langham is a luxury hotel in the heart of TST, near the Star Ferry, and convenient to other transit. it is a wondrful place to stay if you are visiting Hong Kong. Try to stay on a renovated floor, with breakfast included as breakfast (and other services)are very expensive if paid separately. Or you can leave the hotel for the nearby Starbucks or Pacific Coffee if you need US style coffee in the morning.

Traveler's tip on dining

There is a excellent restaurant (2 Michelin stars) in the hotel. If there are only two of you, ask for half portions of menu items to save money and enjoy more variety.

5 Star Value at 4 Star price

Excellent value and location. Attentive staff. Will return.

Traveler's tip on dining

Boston saefood restuarant is very expensive, but excellent. Chinese restaurant is very good, but overrated and overpriced, in my opinion.

Nice hotel, convenient location.

The hotel’s staffs were very nice and accomodating. The room was nice and clean. (Rooms on the upper levels were recently remodeled.) Hotel’s location is very convenience. Steps from major shopping centers. 10 minutes walk to the harbor and ferry ride. Overall, very happy with the stay and will return on my next trip to HongKong.

Great hotel but no view

It was an absolutely great hotel itself, the service was amazing: twice a day (for a standard room), the room was specious and beautifully designed, the location was perfect: in Kowloon, steps away from the ferry to the Hong Kong island but the downside (which is a big disadvantage) is that the hotel does not have any view at all because of its location among surrounding buildings. So, it is a tough choice, I personally rather to have a good view than a superb service...

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Take the Star Ferry to the Hong Kong island, it’s cheap, fast, within walking distance plus you get an amazing view of both Kowloon and the Hong Kong island.

Nicely located, expensive breakfast

Pushy for upgrading the room to the recently refurbished room (+ 20 USD/night). Breakfast is horribly expensive (230 HKD)!

Stay in July 09 w/family

We stayed over @ the Langham for 5 nights. Overall - it was a fantastic stay. Cant find any fault w/it at all. We checked in @ 8am (no issues), checked out late @ 2PM. The place is smack next to Canton Rd and close to Kowloon Rd, close to TST station, bus routes (dont forget to take 973 to Stanley). The concierge was great and the location is unbeatable. I cant compare it to other hotels in the area, since this was my first trip to HK. Overall HK is the most organized city and the hotel keeps that flag flying high. Tip - Airport express to Kowloon station and take the free bus running to all hotels (#2 runs on the Langham route). The toiletries in the room are fantastic.

Traveler's tip on dining

Go for the High Tea at the Peninsula. Expensive, but an experience of a life time. Very classy.

Good location

Excellent location in the tourist area of Hong Kong. Hotel very nice and accomidating....nothing special. Prices for drinks, meals, and internet very high. spend your time and money exploring outside the high-end shops and walk north to more of the local neighborhoods.

Would stay there again

The Langham was in a great location, close to MTR, shopping, lots to do. The staff was friendly, spoke English and went out of its way to do the little extras. The room was very nicely appointed and a comfortable place to rest after a long day out. Afternoon tea at the Palm Court was well worth it.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Octopus card is a must -- great for MTR transportation and making small purchases, and you can get a refund for unused dollars. If you are a Bank of America Customer, you can withdraw HKD without fees from the China Construction Bank (CCB) atms without any fees. Before you go, check to be sure that the bank partnership is still in place. Must see: the Big Buddha in Po Lin, take the cable car up and back (bus takes nearly an hour 1-way).

Excellent hotel, wonderful place to stay

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spotless and really tastefully done. The staff were very professional and friendly but not too in your face. It was my birthday suring our stay & I received a birthday cake and card from the MD, which I thought was a lovely touch. Next time we go away we will be looking for a Langham hotel. Very impressed and made our trip stress free.

Traveler's tip on dining

Kowloon is a little bit more up market that Hong Kong island. The One-Peking road (next door to the hotel) has a fab bar & restuarant with beautiful views accross the harbour to Hong Kong Island

Very convenient

Standard room was spacious. Service was excellent. Room service fast and delicious. Only one improvement area: Bathroom sink drain a little slow. Otherwise, location is hard to beat as it is right between Kowloon and HK Island.

Traveler's tip

Take the Airport Express into town. Quick, clean, and convenient.
