A Yearly Trip!

The hotel was in a perfect location between Tampa, Clearwater, and the airport. It made getting around easy due to its central location to everything my girlfriend and I wanted to do. (Ybor, Bucs game, beaches) It was a short drive into downtown Tampa and a straight shot to Clearwater. The room was very comfortable and clean. The kitchenette was perfect for making breakfasts and throwing lunches together to take to the beach. I would definitely go back! Beautiful view of Tampa Bay, good value, great location, and a very nice room!

Enjoyable Bayfront Stay

Being in love with the water, I just had to arrange a place with a great view. This was the first time I have stayed in a suite---it was like a small condo. The kitchen was excellently appointed--we wanted for nothing. Since we never like housekeeping having access to our things, we put our Do Not Disturb sign out until the end. Thusly we have no comment on the service. It was disappointing not to have some sort of restaurant on site, especially for breakfast. The only place within walking distance was the high-end place across the street---excellent atmosphere and food. I strongly recommend NOT to stay within the hallway rooms--every sound bounces off the stucco. We received a room change (because our key card was not functioning properly) which was far better. For one, the bedroom window faced outward (opposed to the hallway), two, the view was as obstrtucted. If I want a suite next time, I will stay there. Older but clean!

I suggest finding other nightlife other than Ybor City. I had the sense this is not the most safe place for parking since I felt uncomfortable during the day.

I love Sail Port

We have stayed at Sail Port many times while visiting Tampa. This time it was particularly satisfying to hear my son-in-law say "I love this place" as he sat on the balcony at sunset with a glass of wine. Then we walked over and had a wonderful dinner at the Rusty Pelican. The next morning my grandson came over for a swim in the pool where he found new friends to play with. It truly is our home away from home in Tampa.

Having my own comfortable place makes family visits easier on everyone. We get together and have time to ourselves. It has become a perfect combination and it is because there is Sail Port.

Love Tampa. The Suite was not so sweet.

Bed was uncomfortable. Carpet was in terrible condition and the balcony was falling apart. sliding glass door handle was broken off and nothing was repaired. When I called the front desk they tol me not to worry about additional charges because they allready knew the condition of the unit. My girl and I made the best of it, but there was a reason this place was half the price of the others.

Great View!

The floor plan seemed a bit small, but had a balcony with an awesome view of Old Tampa Bay! The staff was friendly and willing to help out with directions. The only issue that we had was that the coffee caraffe had a crack in it. It took longer than expected to get a replacement. What they brought to us was a completely different coffee maker, which had issues of it’s own. Other than that, we would stay at this hotel again.

Nice large room with kitchen, a little updating would be nice, but can’t complain about the room rates.

Exceeded my Expectations

The Sailport Resort exceeded my expectations! I stayed for 7 days and wish I would have stayed for a month. My suite was clean, appliances in working order and well-equipped for extended stay. Sailport’s accommodations and amenities exceeded my expectations for the 1st time compared to description on Expedia.

Best Stay in Tampa

Honestly I can say that I have stayed in one of the best hotels in Tampa, FL. The hotel was not only accomodating but clean and comfortable. The kitchen was a blessing, and the view was spectacular at night over Tampa Bay. We will be staying here again!!!!

We have 2 small children and found a wal-mart about 4 miles away. So we stocked up on breakfast and dinner food so that we only had to purchase lunches when we were out. Being able to cook in the hotel probably saved us $350.00.

I like it!

I was concerened given the mixed reviews. I really liked this hotel. While not a 4 star resort it was clean, well located and the staff was very kind. The rooms are large and mine faced the water. The pool was nice and their was a Rusty Pelican restuarant within walking distance. Very nice, and I would stay again.

Not as good as usual

I have stayed here before, but this time, we had no water pressure, hard to take a shower. Seems like something they should know.

Nice stay on Tampa Bay

We were somewhat concerned reading some of the negative comments on the hotel, but we reserved because we got a good price. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. We stayed in an executive waterfront suite. Nice view of the bay from the small balcony. Well-outfitted small kitchenette. Wireless internet was fair. Small clean bathroom (needs a brighter light). Comfy queen bed, separate from the living area. Daily maid service. Several good restaurants within 1/2 mile. Good access to the freeways - centrally located. Overall, good stay for the price.

Central location.

We rented the 2 bedroom suite which was quite comfortable for a family with 2 young children, mother-in-law and dad and mom.There is not much close by but,most area attractions are only a short drive. We actually went to the store,bought supplies and prepared a wonderful dinner in our room. Saved a bit of change for other things.I would stay again.Staff was courteous and helpful.

Buy groceries,beverages and other items prior to your arrival if you wish to stay in for the evening. Nice Albertsons grocery down the road towards Clearwater.

Fun get away!

Clean and quite. Kitchen was newly renovated but lacked wine opener, frying pan and paper towels. Had a great blender and ice maker. Nice feature when so hot outside. Bed had few extra pillows. Bathroom lighting wasn`t very bright.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Rent a car. There was no swimming at our beach. Close to Clearwater Beach-20 min. Close to St. Pete`s -40 min . Weather Labor Day 91 or 34 c shopping and dining 5 to 10 min away

Nice and Relaxing

I recently stayed at the Sailport for two weeks, while working in Tampa. It was very comfortable. The pool and view are amazing and it’s nice to have security on site. They have parking underneath the hotel rooms and that’s a nice feature. The kitchen is set up nicely, however, I would have liked to have more kitchen linens. Other than that, it was great and Crabby Bill’s next door is a great place to eat as well.

Maid service a bit lacking

Although the hotel was completely satisfactory I would caution you to make sure the maids do the complete job. Three days in a row we had to ask for washcloths. They took the old ones and left NO clean ones. Towels, no problem, cleaning, no problem. The hotel is furnished with some furniture that needs updating but it is still serviceable. For the price it was certainly worth it! Ask for a view of the complete bay. Some rooms have only a partial view of the bay.

If you are planning on eating out, there is a very nice, but pricey, restaurant across the street. Not many places within walking distance.

Very impressed

I read reviews before I booked this hotel, didnt know if I really wanted to stay. Staff very courteous, grounds were clean. The only problem I had was the carpet outside in the hallways and stairs, and the slow elavator in the front entrance.

Beautiful Setting

Was very pleased with everything at the hotel, people,service, prompt shuttle service, location, setting, etc. Except the sofa was terrible uncomfortable; it was a sofa bed that should have been replaced a couple of years ago. Other than that everything was great. Would definitely go back.

Business Travel.

The Hotel is clean, the rooms include a full kitchen. The view from most rooms is great, the ocean. The staff is courteous. The pool is well maintained. There are barbecue stands if you want to cook. No beach but Davis beach is next door by car. Low cost alternative to the high priced hotels in the area.

Family Atmosphere!

We have been staying at Sailport for past 6 years, and it just keeps getting better. The entire resort has been remodeled since the hurricanes of 2004. The beach area with a tether ball was a hit with our granddaughters, along with the pool. A full kitchen makes it comfortable for all, especially with children. We love the balcony with a waterfront view from every unit. 15 minutes from Busch Gardens! We will be back.

I had a very pleasant stay. The room was comfortable and clean! The view was very nice!

One of the best surprises of the summer

We were so pleased with our stay. The suite was exactly as avertised. We didn’t have enough time to do all of the things that the hotel offered since this was more of a business trip, but we will definitely go back and take a mini vacation and never have to leave the hotel. What a pleasant surprise!!
