The Quinta Stinkas

This is a very smelly hotel. Clearly smoking is allowed everywhere. The hallways smelled of smoke and the rooms just smelled. The ’pool’ was the size of a wading pool for children and situated behind the Eyeglass store. It was not open and there were piles of tiles in front. I guess it was being retiled, although I never saw anyone working on it. It is fairly close to the jail and on Friday lots of rowdy people arrived. There was noise all night long. We realized the next day they had come to visit people in the jail.

Would not recommend

Hotel is old, moldy and tired. If you get a room on the Brandon Blvd./Adamo Dr. side, the noise from the street and the nearby fire station will be a problem. There is nothing exceptional about the hotel at all, everything is basically average or below average.

very nice

We were not sure of where to stay and next time will probably stay closer to Pinellas Park. However, it was a very nice hotel with very clean rooms. We will definitely stay at another La Quinta. It was very quiet and everything they advertised. Only drawback was that the hotel was difficult to find especially with all the closed streets. When we called the hotel for help, they were not able to help. They only repeated the directions from the airport. Thank God for a maintenance worker who was directing traffic.

Not happy

The hotel made a good first impression with the lobby but it was downhill from there. Front desk staff not very welcoming. Our room smelled dirty although visually it was ok. And the location of the hotel and the sound-proofing (or lack thereof) of the room made it noisy from the sound of cars and people coming and going into the hotel. There was a block of relative quiet between midnight and 6. Breakfast was adequate. Not only would I never stay there again but I am nervous about staying in any La Quinta since this was my first experience with that chain.

Perfect for what it was

If you’re looking for a clean and decent hotel to stay in, this is a really good choice. It’s not a resort and it’s not a hotel you go to just to stay in the room, but it’s perfect for when you need an inexpensive place to sleep and shower while doing other things during the day. The service was polite, helpful, and friendly, the rooms and exterior were clean. the complimentary breakfast was simple, but it did the job... coffee could be better though. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area which was really good.

It was a nice Hotel

The room was nice. the only things I found were the toilet seat lid was broken, and room service would have known this, but when I let the front desk know they did have maintenance fix it. The other thing that we didn’t care for were the beds, they were to soft for us, which did’t help our backs. Everyone who worked there was nice and professional.

The area that the hotel was located was close to shopping centers, a mall and some good restaurants.

Nice hotel

This is a nice, clean hotel. The only problem I had was that there was a crack in our shower and the towel rack was broken. The staff was nice and helpful and the hotel is in a convenient location. I will stay there again when i visit Brandon.

Close to Parkway

THIS IS AN OLDER HOTEL THAT ALLOWS PETS. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. A GOOD BUY FOR THE PRICE. NOT A NEIGHBORHOOD THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO TAKE A WALK IN.

Deeply Disappointed

I called the hotel prior to my arrival to verify a non-smoking room and a late check-in. Upon arrival in my room, I noticed it had a strange odor to it and my allergies were acting up. It wasn’t until the next day that I noticed two ashtrays behind the coffee maker and realized I was in a smoking room. I have allergies and asthma, as do my children and would never book a smoking room. When I approached the gentleman at the counter, he informed me that the room they gave me was the room I booked. I had my receipt with me which clearly stated a request for a non-smoking room. I received no fix for my problem, nor an apology until several minutes after stating my frustration and problem with a non-smoking room. We also didn’t get very good maid service. Our room was neatened, not cleaned, no clean bed linens and the tub and sink had not been cleaned out. Very poor customer service.

We’ll be back

La Quinta Branden-West is currently being renovated top to bottom. Our room was already done, but it was still just a tad substandard. On the whole, however, it was adequate. The breakfast was excellent. The service personnel were extremely helpful. We will definitely be back when business ot pleasure takes us to Tampa.
