Crummy hotel in Miami
The La Quinta airport hotel in Miami is dirty and in ill repair. The surrounding neighborhood consists of highways and commercial properties. There is literally nothing to do within walking distance of the hotel. Avoid this property.

Good place to spend a couple of days
I stayed at the La Quinta Inn Miami East Airport recently and it was quite good. It is conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from the Miami International Airport. My flight got in at 7:00 am, and even though check in time was 1:00 pm I was able to get a room as soon as the free shuttle bus dropped me off there. The staff were courteous and friendly, the rooms was big and the continental breakfast was adequate. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has to spend a couple of days in Miami.

Perfect Start
I had read a lot of the reviews online before booking this hotel. I wanted to ensure there was a free shuttle to the port as I understand taxis can be expensive. This hotel had the free shuttle, but also had a nice free continental breakfast. They had a waffle station, but it was make your own and everyone was quite messy. Great hotel, very satisfied, will stay here every time we do a cruise out of Miami.
