absolutely beautiful

Great stay. Beautiful views. Great food. Only drawback was it was hard to find. Signage very dark.

Jorge’s Mexican restaurant in Old Town Colorado Springs has fantastic, authentic, mexican food. Obviously the scenery was outstanding.

Avarage at best

The rooms really need updated. If you go for golf or tennis it is nice. However the rest is just average. Wanted to upgrade room but said was not posiable. Wanted to walk on the little beach they had about 1030pm said it was closed. Wanted to rent canoe on a 75 plus day said they were out of season.Wanted a veiw of mountains not parking lot. Not very satisfied.

Great experience

Second time staying at Cheyenne. Have a child at USAFA and find this resort a great place to stay while visiting him even though there are many places closer. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The restaurant is excellent. The breakfast buffet is the best.

Very Nice, Would Visit Again!

The view is simply amazing. The place is very nice and kept up well. There are several ways to entertain your family or coworkers (gyms, pools, golf, restaurants)and the staff were all very nice. The room we stayed in (5 nights) was cleaned thoroughly everyday. Located close to a lot of the tourist attractions in the Colo Springs area, so the convenience was also a plus.

Would visit again!

This resort had wonderful staff and they were always ready to help with any request or just a friendly hello. The grounds were very clean, as was the room. We had a beautiful view of the golf course and Cheyenne Mountain and the lodges were easy to get around with plenty of parking. Only 2 negatives on the hotel. They are still using glass coffee cups and drinking glasses in the rooms and if the maids are not carting around clean glasses I wonder how they are cleaned each day?? The other item is that one of the reasons we stayed at this resort was because they advertised that there is "fishing on site". Although there is a beautiful 35 acre lake there are only 2 very small, restricted areas for fishing so that was a dissapointment.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

While in Colorado Springs don’t miss Garden of the Gods, 7 Falls or a quick trip to the Royal Gorge. Hungry for German food?? Best restaurant around is Edelweiss on Ramona.

Not worth it

No elevators, limited parking. Front desk, not very friendly/ helpful. Even with a discounted rate through expedia, it was way to high for the actual value of this hotel. The mountain view was pretty bogus- I’d pass on this hotel next time around.

Wonderful facilities

Beautiful view with access to a wide variety of activities including golf, swimming, tennis, and more. You would not have to leave the hotel grounds to have a wonderful getaway. Close to most Colorado Springs attractions, but not in the main thoroughfare of activity. We had a problem with the lock on the sliding door when we arrived and when we called the front desk they had someone at our room in less than five minutes to take care of the problem. We would definitely go again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss a trip to Pikes Peak and the Cheyanne Mountain Zoo was larger than we expected. Manitou Springs and Old Colorado Springs also offered a wide variety of shops to satisfy most everyone’s needs.

Needs Improvements

The rooms could use a update! Our toilet did not work, the bed was not completely made. It took more than 20 minutes for the security guard to come and fix the toilet. We asked for another room ,but the front desk was no help. Also a coffee maker should not be in the bathroom unsanitary! We did get another room the next day, but the front desk was suppose to have our luggage moved which didn’t get done til 4:00. The sliding glass door in our next rm was broke did not lock!

Beautiful view, just needs a little tweaking

This hotel is beautiful with a wonderful staff to accomodate. The room was very nice & clean, although the wall unit air conditioner ran constantly and was noisy. If not for the constant noise the room would’ve been perfect. Bathroom is a little dated but not a big issue. The buffet is overpriced for the amount of food served. The food was good but not much selection. There is a small refrigerator in rooms, ours was broke and a staff member searched high & low to find a replacemment for us, which he did. The staff is great. Ordered room service one night, very good & not as expensive as eating the buffet.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Alot of things to see, not too far away, Royal Gourge, one hour & worth the trip. Garden of the Gods, Pike’s Peak all within 30 minutes, a must see. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, go and feed the giraffes, they are beautiful, only 10 minutes from hotel. Drink lots & lots of water to fight off altitude sickness, especially if you are going to Pike’s Peak.

Thank you for joining us at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. I was pleased to read you found our staff to be so accommodating, it is a passion of theirs, and the Room Service staff will be happy to know you enjoyed dinner. You mentioned some "tweaking" with which I agree and fortunately we are in the next phase of a design process which will give our guest rooms a new look. But, like most improvement projects it will take longer than we would like, especially as it involves all 316 rooms. Thank you for taking the time to write about the resort, we appreciate hearing from all our guests, and if you have more to share I hope you will contact me directly at the resort.

Fabulous!

This hotel was one the best I’ve stayed in in a long time. The bed was comfortable, which is always important when on vacation. The room was clean and the view from the room was terrific! I would definitely stay here again if I venture back to Colorado Springs!

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Definitely take the hour drive to the Royal Gorge, it’s worth it!

Very nice, relxing hotel

Cheyenne Mountain Resort was well worth my money. We had an off season price, which was a +. The only negative about the resort is that the room door slams and it shakes the whole room and is extremely loud. I could hear other doors down the way. Also, when sitting on the beautiful patio of our room, you can hear, but not see the other guests as if they were sitting in your room. Other than these things, Cheyenne Mountain Resort is a place I would stay at. Very efficient check-in and room has separate sinks, a mini fridge, terry cloth robes, very comfortable bedding(goose down comforters) and the hotel is very near restaurants, gas stations, but it feels like you are in a secluded area. Enjoy your stay!

Best Stay Ever

We never imagined we would have access to the golf course.Unfortunatly we were so busy with all the things to do we didn’t make time to play a round of golf, but we did enjoy the aquatic center.Sharon, one of the staff members, was so helpful with suggesting places to go and things to do that my granddaughter and I would enjoy.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

you must visit the Goldmine and also the Will Rogers Shrine.

Beautiful setting, comfortable stay

This hotel was in a beautiful, mountain setting. We even saw a deer grazing just outside our hotel room one morning. Service was great and the room was comfortable and quiet. I would definitely go back.

Disappointed

The website made this look and sound wonderful, but we were disappointed. The bed was so uncomfortable, that I stayed up and watched TV all night. Lousy trip because of this.

A splendid hotel stay

Everything was perfect! the staff were courteous and friendly. The room was oh so nice especially the overlooking Cheyenne mountain view. The bed was comfortable the linens clean and crisp. it’s just the kind of room that i want to stay in in a hotel. The food was delectable and the hotel lobby was gorgeous! the view from the lobby of the Cheyenne mountain is simply breath taking. I will bring my in laws when they get to visit me here in Colorado to that hotel. I can never ask for more. the gift shop was also charming..

Excellent Colodaro Springs Retreat

We stayed for 2 nights for a short getaway from the Denver area. It is a great setting and every room has views of the mountains and golf course. As others have stated the place is showing its age but is still very compfortable. We played the Country Club course--nice with a few challenging holes. Despite their posted policies we were able to take our 5 year old daughter with us on the course. Skip the dinner buffet at the hotel’s restaurant. So-so cuisine and high prices. Instead there is a nice bistro in the shopping plaza across from the resort’s access road or corporate restaurants a mile or two towards downtown.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has the coutries largest giraffe heard and you can purchase crackers to feed them. We went over Halloween and attended the "Boo at the Zoo" evening event. We opted for the shuttle bus thinking parking would be a ble problem but if you arrive early it should not be.
