Loud at night

There is a very loud restaurant across the street. They usually wrap it up by 11PM or so but if you plan to use the air conditioning to cover the noise be prepared to keep moving. The climate controls are motion activated so when you lay down and sleep the air shuts off in the room. There is being green and there is being absurd. Its Florida at least keep the blower running.

Skidder’s restaurant is worth visiting. The food is very good and the prices are low. A lot of locals dine there, which is always a good sign, very diverse menu and the wait staff is always attentive. We have been several times and never had a bad experiance. Great for a fast and easy breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Alden Beach Resort exceeded all our expectations

Very friendly and helpful front desk personnel. Other staff did great job keeping place clean and maintained. Beach was beautiful and great for long walks. We went for relaxation and were very pleased. Looking forward to returning next time! Overall a great place to stay.

great view, can’t wait to go back

Great location right on the beach. Perfect room layout for a family! Only complaint would be the cleanliness of our bathroom (surface clean but a faint urine odor) and the elevator smelled very strong of soiled/dirty laundry. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would definately come back.

A little pricey for an effiency hotel, but great local on beach just north of Don Cesar

Great hotel for small families and young couples! No room service! Gulf front room upgrade was worth the extra money spent.

Seek out multi-night discount to soften the inflated cost of staying beachside in ST. Pete/ Clearwater. I am a Florida resident living 30 minutes from this beach. Make sure you check out the pier. They offer a discount if you are only there for an hour. Fishing costs are per passenger.

Best value for your money

This place is the best bang for your buck on St. Pete Beach. Nice little resort right on the beautiful beach. The property is attractive and well maintained. Nice pools, big laundry room, and great suites with all the amenities. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. Highly recommended.

Crabby Bill’s Seafood is a MUST for the visitor who loves seafood and a casual dining atmosphere.

Nice Family Beach Resort

Very down to earth, friendly resort. The staff gives you as much service or assistance as you desire. If you want your privacy you can have that too. This was our fourth stay at the Alden and it feels like home.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Check with the desk clerk upon checking in for a Gulf view room upgrade if you didn’t book one of these rooms. They will often offer these rooms at a great price. The view is well worth it!

Excellent overnight getaway

We enjoyed a wonderful overnight getaway. We were upgraded to a better room upon arrival. Took a wonderful walk on the beach first thing in the morning. Will go back again to enjoy this great place.

Good value for your $

I went with my sister to St. Pete Beach for a long weekend. We were vacationing strictly to be at the beach and lounge by the pool. We found the Alden Beach Resort & Suites to meet our needs just fine. It was clean, cool and comfortable. It was a bonus having a kitchenette as well. The hotel is right on the beach - the beachfront was great. The pools were nice, too - we never had a problem getting a chair in the sun. The hotel staff was especially helpful with offering dinner/nightlife suggestions, and always very friendly. Overall, I’d recommend - great beach location.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Hotels (the ones we saw as we walked the beach) don’t provide chairs on the beach - you must bring your own. Coming from 1,000 miles away and not being a Floridian, this isn’t really possible. Had to lay on beach towels on the sand, which was still ok. Otherwise you can rent chairs and cabanas from a vendor un-related to the hotels.

wonderful place to stay

This was our second stay at the Alden and it was just as wonderful this time. The rooms are very clean and cozy with a nice kitchen and full size fridge w/ freezer. It’s nice having the freezer to keep it stocked with ice cream for the kids instead of going out everyday. It also has an ice machine in the freezer. The pools were clean. Great service at the front desk. The tennis courts are always fun too. I would recommend this place to anyone staying near St. Pete Beach. Also make sure you go to Wings right down the street for any souvenir’s you need.

Can’t wait to go back

Every August for the past 5 years now myself and three friends have stayed at the Alden Beach Resort. We love it. It is a great place with comfortable rooms. Convinent to everything really that there is to do around the area. Great beach not crowded. Great place for children. The only thing I can say I wished is that the hotel bar would stay open at least an hour later and I wish the Gulf front rooms were a little bigger. We did actually stop staying in the Gulf front rooms cause with for of us it was just too crowded. But we stay in the Nassau building and it is great. Rooms size is prefect for the four of us and you can still see the Gulf and also you have a view of the Bay. I have and would again reccommend this hotel to anyone that is looking to stay in St Pete Beach.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

You go to St Pete’s Beach go parasailing. I did this for the first time this year and loved it. It is a bit expensive but well worth it. Go to shell island. Great place. We usually spend about 4 hours on the island you can stay up to six if you go to Pass-a-grille marina and go from there. It is also the cheapest place to leave from. Go to Dolphin Village and do either the sunset cruise or the Dolphin watch. They use a sailboat and it is wonderful.

We’ll go back

We stayed five nights and it was all good. The hotel service was excellent. Nothing at all to complain about. We we’ll definitely go back.

Go to Larry’s Ice Cream Parlor, Derby Lanes Dog Track and Busch Gardens(in Tampa). We loved all three.

Not impressed

In general every thing was all right. It should be advisable that Alden have avaliably several guest rooms por early check in, as oftenly air companies fligth schedules are for different arrival times of the 4 pm hotel hour checkin. It would be necesary too, to offer free Wi Fi, all day round, as most hotels have.

We found the rooms very good, but the pool area needs to be redesigned in orden to allow a better comunication to the beach.

Family resort for relaxing vacation

The Alden Resort is perfect for a family vacation in a relaxed and low key atmosphere. It offers upgraded rooms and key amenities while keep the costs down. The resort is in an excellent location, near many restaurants and bars. The 2 pools, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and other on-site amenities give your family flexibility on how to spend your time. The covered parking is a very nice touch. The staff members were all extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, the Alden completely met all of our vacation needs. It offers many upgrades over a standard hotel without the stuffiness (or high price) of the luxury resorts.

Nice for the price

The company that owns the resort could invest in some new linens. Especially blankets. Otherwise the room was clean, comfortable, and a good price.

Upgraded at Discount

After a long flight, hot muggy evening, we were so disappointed with the room location. We had asked for a ground floor with patio. What we found was a ground floor, patio was the walkway at the bottom of stairs to the pool. We went back to the office, unsure what they could do. It technically was what we had asked for, not what we had pictured. After some $$ negotiations, we were upgraded to the 6th floor, private balcony overlooking the entire beach and Gulf. Could see 20+ miles in either direction. Fabulous! We stayed 7 nights, completely satisfied. Loved it! Nice staff, empowered to make decision. Thanks, Alden!

Traveler's tip

Great inexpensive local restaurants, Cuban, seafood, steaks. Don’t fall for the beach gear "giant" stores. The stores around Publix grocery store are cheap and have great merchandise, Tommy Bahama, sandals, etc. Nice people everywhere. Great family area.

Family Friendly

My family stayed here for 6 days we loved the convience of being on the beach but the option to swim in a pool. We had enough to keep us busy with ping pong table, play ground, swimming, and hot tub, plus all the sites surrounding the resort. Our room was spacious with all the convience of home,too. We definitly will be returning.

Book on expedia with expedia coupons. I saved big time doing this. They told me that if I called for a room that I couldn’t get a deal like I got with expedia. Thank you expedia!
