Bad service

I’ve stayed at the Northland Inn several times and previously had a good experience. This time, 10 minutes after got into our room, I heard someone trying to get in with a key. I opened the door and a woman said this was her room. She showed me her key which indeed was the same room. She did go back down to get another room. Why would they give my room to someone else when they just gave it to me? And what would have happened if I wasn’t in the room? They would have gotten her a key that worked, thereby making my key not work when I returned? Not to mention the fact that someone who wasn’t a hotel employee would have been in my room. Also, at 6:50 AM the next morning I awoke to knocking on my door. It was a member of the housekeeping staff. She too had the wrong room. This was a leisure trip with an event that went late the night before. We did not need to be up at 7 AM! Perhaps the staff of the Northland Inn would have liked the 4 hour car ride home with no sleep and cranky kids? When I checked out I wanted to talk to the frontdesk staff about the incidences. There were 3 guests ahead of me in line and 1 front desk person. Another employee showed up, looked at the line, said "I’m back" and disappeared into an office behind the desk. I stood there for 15 minutes with tired kids while the front desk person waited on the first guest before I just gave up. All in all, a very disappointing experience. I’m not sure I will be back.

AWESOME PLACE TO TAKE FAMILY

The Northland Inn and Conference Center is an amazing place to take your family. The offer suites of all kinds; king, queen, two doubles, and of cours a pull out in the living room. As an added bonus, our room had a jacuzzi tub! Everything was neat and clean. There is a pool, workout room, hot tub, wonderful room service and dining options and a bar. The property is beautifuland located only 15 minutes from Mall of America. I would recommend it to anyone and I will go back again next year

All Suites and very Quiet!

I love the layout of the rooms - they are all suites. You first walk in to a sitting room with couch, table & chairs, TV and storage. The bedroom is beyond that. The layout means you’re not sleeping a few feet from where people are walking in the halls. It was extremely quiet. The staff is very courteous. Everything is well maintained. The whirlpool tub is very large - only drawback is that the shower is in the tub area and the tub walls are high so it could be an issue getting in and out for people who are short statured or have issues with mobility. We’ve stayed there twice and will certainly be back!
