Nice Motel!
I thought this was a very good value for the San Diego area. I was there for a visit with a SDSU student. The motel is relatively nearby and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. I did not eat at the complimentary breakfast so I cannot comment on that, but all in all I was very pleased with my stay.

Would definitely stay again
My best friend and I took a long girl’s weekend trip to San Diego and were on a tight budget. While we would have loved to stay close to the beach, our pocketbooks could not accommodate....so we looked in the suburbs of San Diego and found the Travelodge in La Mesa. Nearly everything I read about the Travelodge was very positive, so we decided to give it a go. We were very impressed with the place for what we spent. The hospitality was so refreshing. The guy at the office desk printed us maps every morning for the places we wanted to go and even suggested we visit Seaport Village which we hadn’t heard of- and we loved it! Also, one morning, my friend was trying to make a waffle for breakfast, and it didn’t turn out at all. A very sweet staff gal came and offered to make her a new one (which turned out perfect)). The cafeteria tables were always clean, as was our room, and we just really felt comfortable and safe there (despite the fact that the surrounding neighborhood building windows had bars on them!) We would definitely stay at this particular Travelodge again. Outstanding in it’s class! The only negative that I can write about is that we were on the bottom floor, and the person above us (whom I nicknamed "Sasquach") walked very heavy footed, and that got a little irritating to me. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again!!!

Very impressed with the staff and how clean and wonderful the room was. We asked a staff member for a recommendation to a place for dinner and it was a pleasant and affordable seafood restaurant that we enjoyed immensely. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will return in the future.
