Not bad...just dont expect too much...
My husband and I just got back from a trip to Cairo. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and we felt safe. Of the 5 nights we booked at this hotel, we stayed for only 2 of them -- we took the overnight train to Luxor and back so that was 2 nights away, and the last night we actually checked out at midnight in order to catch our flight home. This hotel was great for us because with all that time away, we never felt like we were wasting money on an unused room. It was simply a place to leave the bulk of our luggage while we travelled around. We were in Cairo during Ramadan, and found ourselves at the larger 4 and 5-star hotels for our lunches. We skipped breakfast each day so I cant comment on the hotels restaurant. I will say it seemed like the staff was friendlier to us when we first arrived, and they became less and less so as it became evident to them that my husband and I didnt need their assistance with taxis, or tours, or anything else for that matter. All in all we were satisfied with the hotel for what we needed it for, but if you are not a seasoned traveler or you like to be "pampered" this is not the hotel for you.

Good place to stay if you do not want to spend a lot of money
Do not stay here if you bring kids or people with special needs. This is a great place for someone trying to save money but also does not want to stay in a gross place. Becareful with the front desk offerings they will offer you transportation and a tour guide for 10 times more you can get it by yourself if you just spend more than 5 minutes asking somewhere else and they will try to take advantage of you everytime there is an opportunity.I also highly recommend you to go to a restaurant by the Nile river called Trianon not only because of the clean and exquisite food but because of the great view (you are literally eating on the Nile river). Last thing expect to buy a 15 dollar visa when you get to the International Airport in Egypt.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Do not be afraid to stop a cab. They are extremely inexpensive. Usually the tour guides or hotels are the ones trying to rip you off. Also at the airport the cabs are more expensive like anywhere else but make sure you check the taxi chart fees posted before leaving the Airport.
