Best economic motel in Berkeley/El Cerrito area.

This may be the best lodging facility in the area for the price. Clean, convinient, and cheap (compared to other hotels/motels in the area). The complimentary breakfast is reasonable, and I enjoyed it.

Not too bad....the rates is not that cheap

NOt too bad..Wished they could provide better breakfast..eg some toast and hard boil eggs..To walk to the BART station is reasonable close ..however would not encourage to do so during the night..The travelling distance to SFO is about 45 mins ..quite a distance.

Very clean neat and smelled nice. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I was given extra pillows on request without any problem which is unusual and the continental breakfast was fresh and well served. Not a lot of selection but it almost never is. The price was very reasonable and the location was easy to find. I was extremely satisfied.

Will Definitely Recommend

Good stay for the price, near freeway & UC Berkeley. Will definitely recommend especially for parents visiting college students in Berkeley.

OK Hotel

For people passing through the area I would reccomend this hotel as a place to stay. I wouldnt stay more than a couple nights. Room was clean, bed was a typical hotel bed. The hotel is located bordering a ruff neighborhood but is close to the freeway so you don’t have to drive through much. There is only one enterance and the proerty is very well lit at night so it feels safe. The continental breakfast was good, and had plenty of food.

I was allowed to leave my car in the parking lot after I checked out to ride BART into San Francisco. Very helpful staff.

Excellent quality for the price

This is a older motel but very well kept. It is clean and quiet and located conveniently next to the freeway. The continental breakfast isn’t much but then they usually aren’t. I would definitely stay at this motel again and recommend it. It is very good quality for the price.

Good value

I stay at this hotel for business every week. The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. I do like the fact that there is an indoor corrodor. It is also nice to have the refrigerator and microwave in the room.

What a nice Super 8

I really enjoyed my stayed at this boutique type hotel. Interior corridors made me feel secured. The staff was frendly and the room spacious and clean. The location was very convinence for me as it was very close to the BART Station. Irma.

this was an ideally located motel for our stay - right off freeway. Basically clean and neat w/frig,microwave/iron/and toaster oven. Staff all were attentive and friendly as well as professional. Would stay again.

No such thing as Smoke-free

I stayed in a non-smoking room that smelled like a stale ash tray. I believe we were located above a smoking room. I almost left because we have three children but we arrived very late and were forced to stay.

Mixed review

It’s true that the place is clean and decent, but I was a little disappointed after reading very positive reviews from other guests. The neighborhood seems a little questionable, and the service was marginal. If you go with lower expectations, you should be fine. But do be aware that it’s a lower class kind of place.

A no hassle location within easy reach of Berkeley. San Francisco, and Marin County.

Very clean and functional room

Our room was very clean and functional for a good price for the East Bay area. The only drawback was our bedroom window opened onto a commercial dumpyard but then we were in a densely populated commercial area.

Pretty good for the price

The room was clean and the staff was good. I had some trouble with the wireless internet on the second day that I was there. They have these fresh/new IKEA looking rooms (only two), but I was unable to get one because they’re only offered in two bed units. Overall, not bad.

Good Deal for the Price

This hotel is within walking distance to the BART so a car rental isn’t a necessity if you don’t mind using public transportation. The room was quiet, clean and I felt secure traveling alone. The location of the hotel isn’t in the heart of anything but there are local restaurants, gas station, Target and some other stores. I would stay here again if I needed to.

This hotel is walking distance from the BART, so you don’t need to rent a car if you don’t mind using public transportation. The price of this hotel was average for the type of hotel it was. There are inexpensive eateries (Denny’s and Carrows) nearby for meals.

A good economical hotel

I do wonder if some other reviewers work for competitors to Super 8 hotels! I don’t: I’m just a scientist from the UK looking for a good cheap hotel. My room was in good condition and clean; the bed was comfortable; the shower was excellent once I worked out how to operate the slightly unusual control (up = on, down = off!); the breakfast provided good cereal and OJ, and the coffee was OK; the hotel had new carpets throughout; the location was safe and busy with several restaurants and BART within walking distance. All of the staff are competent, and most are friendly, though the man on the desk in the evening should practice smiling more often. So what is there to dislike?

Worth considering for a cheap visit to SF. Leave your car here and take the BART into SF. That’s what the locals do.
