Perfect place for rest and relaxation
My husband and I stayed at the Montpelier for six nights in May. While the property is well maintained, I expected a bit more in a Relais and Chateaux establishment. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and fresh cold towels which was a plus. I thorougly enjoyed the breakfast each morning. The homemade jams and curd were to die for. The staff were very friendly as well as attentive. My biggest complaint were the numerous ants in the room. We literally had a trail of ants crawling up the wall. We met our guests at the hotel who too had an ant problem and were told Montpelier staff changed their room without hesitation. Overall, we had a great time. If you are looking for R&R, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is so serene. I was able to finish a book in three days. The sounds of the creatures at night were soothing to my ears.
Traveler's tip on shopping
If youre looking for shop, Nevis isnt for you. Nevis is a very low key island. Also, be prepared to spend a lot of money on getting around the island. We paid roughly $40 for roundtrip transportation back and forth into town.
