A bit old school, but great value for money
The hotel would have been quite impressive in 80s with lots of space and marble finishing. but there’s some vibe missing and the staff don’t seem to care too much but do the minimum. Room was a bit small and a bit noisy, being next to busy road but it was quite comfy and the breakfast was decent. It’s not exactly near the centre, but the area is quite nice close to Campo Pequeno and musium Gubenkl(??)... Considering the price, it was great value but next time I might spend a bit more for fancier hotel in centra location.

decent budget hotel, good value for the money
pros: + cheap + very clean + quiet + close to the metro stop and easy to travel to the center + Although the staff don’t look very friendly (read: no smiling faces), they are very helpful. We had a problem in the room, but it was quickly solved. cons: - breakfast is average. I’ve read on several sites that it was very good, a bit disappointed on that. It consists of sweets, not so nice bread, 1 type of cheese, ham and some fruit. The coffee was terrible. - the room looked to the backyard, which was quite ugly and dirty - no minibar/fridge in the room (I didn’t care about this, but some people might)

Small but Clean Room - The Location Is Great
Located on the bus (to downtown) & subway line, Hotel Alif offers good value for the money. There are 2 supermarkets within walking distance, one located in a nice underground shopping mall a block away. The area feels safe. The breakfast (included) is a big plus - many items to choose from. There are a few restaurants nearby and a food court in the mall. Also it is very close to the airport. Will stay there again if I ever go back to Lisbon.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you have an extra half day you can take the subway to the station "Cais do Sodre" and jump on the local train to "Estoril" & "Cascais", the 2 little beach towns located just outside of Lisboa,very pretty! It will take about 30 mins oneway. Enjoy!
