Really needed A/C
This hotel had a great location, but the rooms were very small, beds were uncomfortable and the air conditioning was practically non-existent. Its on a fairly busy street, so opening the window was not an option either. Loved Rome, but couldnt wait to leave this hotel to get a good nights sleep.

Not that great
We stayed here for 3 nights and were ready to leave. The rooms seemed a little dirty and very small. The breakfast area in the basement was filthy. Out feet were sticking to the floor ! The location was OK, but it was a major hike over to the Vatican City, which we walked to and took a hair raising cab ride back from. The service was marginal, not much English spoken. I would look elsewhere next time.

Great location
The hotel location was very handy. We walked everywhere from there - even the Coliseum + the Vatican. The train station was also a short walk. The hotel service was very friendly. They recommended some great restaurants - we really enjoyed the Grill + Wine restaurant that is on the way to the Trevi fountain for a nicer dinner. Our room facing the alley was very quiet, clean, and cool. The breakfast was in line with others at the various hotels we stayed. We found the small store nearby to be helpful in saving money on drinks and snacks.

Nice but overpriced
The staff was friendly and the hotel clean and adequate, but we felt it was very overpriced. Location is good, but noisy at night. Were not impressed by the price versus value.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Rather than taxis, we took the metro all over Rome. Very easy and efficient for getting around.

Great Location and Comfort
This hotel is ideally situated for touring Roma. Its a 2 minute walk to the Metro, 5 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps, 10 minute walk Borghese Gardens and there are lots of shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. A little convenience store a few doors down was great for drinks and snacks. Our room was very clean, the bathroom was updated and had lots of towels and amenities and we had a lovely view from our living room across Rome to St. Peters. The breakfast spread was good and the service was great. Lovely lobby with internet access at a reasonable charge. My only complaint was that our 4 bedded room included a fold-out sofabed which was not the most comfortable for our kids. I would definitely return to the hotel on my next trip!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Ask for a room on the 5th or 4th floor near the back, with a view of St. Peters, and not on the front of the hotel as Via Quattro Fontana is busy and a little loud.

Not impressed with the food or the bedbugs
We had a great time in Rome, and the hotel is situated perfectly if you want to walk to all the major attractions (ie the Vatican, colesseum, Pantheon, etc). The breakfast provided by the hotel is fairly perfunctory - croissants in plastic bags, "Tang" juice mix, some cold-cuts and cheese. Not much when you consider how much you pay per night. While we were there the kids started getting bug bites, and we ended up with the problem coming home with us. All in all, a fairly expensive hotel whose location is by far its strongest selling point.
Wash your clothes as soon as you return to prevent bed bug problems. Store the luggage in the garage or other out-of-the-house location for a few weeks.

Great location
The Hotel is European-very simple:no frills. We did not like the breakfast-it is the typical continental served everywhere but it was substandard. The hotel is in a great location-can walk to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps...we even walked to the Coliseum (my youngest is 10) For simple lodging with ac that worked and no bathroom issues this was just what we wanted.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Always have small denominations of money when you take a taxi...they never have change. Also, if they do not use a meter then do not tip on top of that amount. Save the first water bottle you buy and reuse by filling up at the numerous fountains all over the city-the water is fine to drink and it is cold!
