Great, as always
We have been staying at the Laurel Inn for the last 8 years, due to it’s close proximity to the University Of San Francisco. (Two of our sons attended school there.) It has always been a nice place to stay with easy bus access to all locations in the city. The people working there are helpful with any questions, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Drawbacks: Only a problem if it happens to be really hot, but there is no air conditioning. It can be a little loud with sounds of traffic (you ARE in the city), and this last visit we were charged for parking which used to be free. We still feel it’s a wonderful hotel, and if you want something other than a sterile chain hotel, you will enjoy your stay.
Traveler's tip
Parking is really a problem in the city. Leave your car in the Laurel’s parking lot, and take the bus, which is right across the steet. It goes everywhere, and destinations can be checked in advance on the Muni website.

My First Pick in SF
I always enjoy staying at the Laurel Inn. They have convenient low cost parking and they allow dogs no matter the size. My great dane is always welcome. Comfortable size rooms and bedding. Kind staff!

Worked well
This is a good choice for a non-downtown hotel. A few aspects of the decor were slightly worn, but everything was very clean and comfortable with excellent service.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This location is convenient to several of the main buildings of California Pacific Medical Center. Walking distance to the very nice Laurel Village Shopping district.
