Your typical small London hotel
This is your typical small London hotel: clean and fairly well-maintained, with a basic no-frills room, and, unfortunately, rude and unhelpful staff. I arrived around lunchtime after an exhausting trans-Atlantic flight to find that my room was not ready yet. While this in itself is not unusual, I did take exception at the rude reaction I received from reception staff to my enquiry about the availability of an alternative room. The manager even suggested that I might have paid for an additional night prior to my arrival in order to have my room available early. While otherwise nothing bad happened, there is also nothing to recommend this hotel or distinguish from dozens or hundreds of similar places in London.

avoid if possible
I chose the hotel for its good location. But the room was basic even for London standards which are one of lowest in the world as it is considering the high prices.

Hotel has good location, nearby Hyde Park, walking distance to Subway (Underground or Metro). That would be it. There is nothing else this hotel has to offer. The staff will take advantage of you and give you the worst rooms, designed for live-in staff, definitely not for guests. I booked hotel for two nights and my brother who speaks very little English arrived first. They gave him keys to the room at the ground/basement floor with window facing inside basement yard. When I arrived and made complaint they relocated us to second floor where you didnt have to be afraid of scratching your head against the ceiling and you could see the sky and some of the city from the window. It was obvoius that reservationist took advantage of my brother and gave us, well, I cant call it a three star hotel room. Breakfast should be skipped as well, it doesnt worth trouble.
There are many other hotels nearby, just check the local yellow pages.
