Convenient but OLD

Advantage: It’s convenient to go around Manila. It is also 1 of the pick up/drop off hotels for the tours by the Department of tourism. Disadvantage: It is old and you can see it in its walls and ceiling. It is too pricey for it’s infrastructure.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The hotel is right across the US embassy. SO if you are going to have your visa interview, you can stay at this hotel.

Great Location and Price

While it’s close to the mecca of lady bars (not my thing), it is still in a decent location with less hustlers than other locations. Nice pool, decent breakfast included, and cheap taxi ride from the airport. Hard to say anything bad about this location and hotel.

OK to stay at because it is cheap, but otherwise it is bad

Shower stoll was not working properly; hair dryer NOT working at all; even though I requested a Bay View of Manila Bay I was ALWAYS put in a room other than with a view of Manila Bay -- that is not what I had asked for -- I wanted a view of Manila Bay and they did not provide it as requested. The van that was provided by the hotel wanted 700 pesos to take me from the hotel to Aquino International Airport -- but if I took a taxi it was MUCH cheaper.

For the money and location near the Aquino International airport, it is worth the money

The hotel was OK. I had to ask for clean towels and the toilet tissue was missing. The staff was very friendly; the breakfast was OK, but nothing to write home about. When I set up my reservation I had asked for a room with a view of Manila Bay; I was given that when I arrived. All in all, my stay at the Bay View was OK.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The Bay View Hotel is very near the Aquino International airport; so when you arrive in Manila and are tired from the long airplane ride, having an OK hotel to stay at which is near the airport is a good thing.

Good enough for its own class

I was greeted & accommodated well by the hotel’s airport transfer service when I arrived from a long international flight. The extra pay for the airport transfer was all worth it. The hotel’s location is very convenient to the airport and the US Embassy. I came relaxed and pretty to my appointment at the US Embassy because I had nice breakfast at the hotel and simply crossed the street from hotel to the Embassy. I’m a picky eater but I did enjoy their Filipino breakfast.I swam in the pool to relieve my back pain but not for long because I couldn’t tolerate the cigarette smoke.I hope the roof deck area is non-smoking too. I applaud their customer service (house keeping and security)for being quick, attentive, and responsive to requests/concerns.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

For business concerns (with US embassy), banks are nearby. For dining, you can go to the "Dampa" at Macapagal Blvd or Baywalk at Roxas Blvd or to Malate. For shopping malls, you can commute by taxi, jeepney, or van. Divisoria, Intramuros, Luneta Park are also near the hotel.

Stay Away From Bayview!!!

BAD POINTS: SMELLY! OLD! HORRIBLE PLUMBING! RUDE STAFF! This hotel is OLD OLD OLD.. no matter how cheap your discount, it is not worth the stay. There are better hotels. the Lobby is nice enough.. but when you get upstairs the SMELL is HORRIBLE... after a full day of adding room fresheners, we were able to get the smell in the room down to something tolerable. The staff was all smiles at check-in : but then once we had our room key, it was nothing but rudeness and unresponsiveness. We discovered our shower was almost non-functional but the front desk didn’t even react at all when we complained. Thank god the stay was only for two nights... if we had tried to cut short, i’m certain they would have refused a refund of our prepaid stay. This is the WORST hotel i’ve stayed at in Asia or USA!

Traveler's tip

STAY AWAY

perfect location

the location is perfect. Not far from the International airport and away from the congested Manila. Just accross the American Embassy and Manila Baywalk. Has easy access to the main road and near to key Manila shopping centers. The hotel itself needs maintenance or upgrade. No safe box inside the room but it’s available in the front desk. No free wifi access even to hotel customers which sucks and the ladies in the front desk were helpful and nice.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The Marina (Manila Yacht Club) is only less than 5 minutes drive from the hotel. There’s lots of restaurants and shopping at the vicinity and also, don’t forget to check out Corregidor Island. It’s worth your day.

Very dirty carpet Room and not acceptable at all

The Hotel was totally not an acceptable hotel. For sure not a good value for money and never ever again to be used. The floor was made of dirty carpets and the bed sheets were dirty. Toilet was totally not well cleaned and it is a experience not to repeat. Not to say that the reception did not want to accept a voucher on laptop because was not printed. It says there was internet but internet was only on the ground floor and already closed when we arrived.

Bayview Park Hotel Manila is just OK

Rooms are clean but very old. the sheets on the bed were short and didnt cover the whole mattress. People very friendly. They charge very high price to add second person or get a second room. Hotel is a little high priced for same quality as other hotels of equal quality. I have stayed at many hotelss in Manila and this one is middle range.

Ok

Location, service and breakfast is what I consider the most on a hotel when on vacation, and I had all three of them. The least time spend in a hotel the better vacation is. I had a great time.

Traveler's tip on dining

Always love to eat the local dinning, excellent taste and service, any restaurant even a mall is a good place to eat.

Not soo great!

- Wireless internet only in lobby/not free! - Cheaper rooms have a view on the hallway, lol! - Very noisy, but clean rooms. - Horrible pool/gym area on roof... - Overall ’ok’ if you work at the US embassy (across street).

Proved to be convenient for us

The Bayview Park Hotel is a very convenient place to stay. The US Embassy is directly across the street. The restaurant, where I got married, just four blocks, within easy reach of the horse and carriage we took to the restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable although the walls are paper thin. Could hear the neighbors singing, among other things. While the breakfast buffet was always plentiful, much of the ’heated’ food was cold. Service was excellent and will stay again when I next visit the Philippines, with my wife.

Oasis in Ermita

The Bayview Park Hotel is a nice three-star hotel across from the US embassy on Roxas Blvd in Ermita. The hotel is nothing too fancy, but has very good service, clean rooms, and an excellent breakfast buffet. I really did not have to eat the rest of the day because the buffet had abundant food items from every meal included. The room is fine, but nothing special: A queen bed, decent furnishings, tv, refrigerator with sodas, beer, etc. but a little old in style. Still the place was clean, and the service was great. For the price it was a real bargain. The surrounding area of the hotel has an amazing number of homeless people on the street and children begging everywhere. This is just a fact of life in Manila, but still, it was a shock to see. The people are exceptionally nice, but you really do need to be aware of your surroundings and keep track of your belongings. There is a mall about five blocks away on Padre Favre, and there are a lot of good bars and restaurants around Remidios Circle, which is another six or seven blocks. I felt completely safe in Manila, once I got used to the incredible poverty all around, but was always glad to get back to the hotel.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Go out in the evening around 9 pm because more places are open and it is not so hot and humid.

Cheap. Big Rooms. But old building

My room was great. I liked the view, it was big, the lights were all working. The lobby is very busy. The staff are really friendly. Location is near the airport, and near old manila (but a bit far away from the business district). Overall the low price + staff + room size (and the 7 eleven near the hotel) beats everything else and I’d recommend it.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Malate, one of Manila’s premier night life spots is close by.

Bayview Park Hotel Manila 2008

Its a nice Hotel and very secure. The people are attentive and helpful. The rooms are clean and so is the rest of the hotel. I am somewhat biased in the review in that it is not like the hotels in Makati. You kind of get what you paid for. There is a pretty big difference. The "class-star" level is different between makati hotels and the Bay View. It shows in the hotel decor, and the quality of the food served in the resturant. The quality of the room furnishings and decor is also different. The Makati hotels are located in the middle of the business district. It is a prime location for shopping, museums, and great returants. All in all, if you are on a budget, the Bay View would be a "good" pick, but if you are looking for 4 star level treatment and up, best picks are in Makati.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are on a budget, try the Bay View. Its clean, safe and secure and the people are nice.
