Good basic motel
The motel was convenient to my conference, near downtown Berkeley. It is basic, without extra amenities, but was very clean and in good condition. The office is not open 24 hours, but if you call ahead, they make arrangements for late arrivals. Very courteous.
Check out the botanical gardens at UC Berkeley. They have about 13,000 plants from around the world. Well worth the visit.

A nice hotel
A nice hotel. Clean, friendly staff, etc. Easy to get to the city center by bus or on foot (a bit of a hike). Better if you have a car. BART service right to the Airport. Would highly recommend, but next time I would try to find something closer to downtown Berkley (I don’t have a car).

Not impressed
Uncomfortable beds, cracked old bathroom floors, mildew in the shower, bars on the windows facing the street, no AC.
Traveler's tip
If you’re in town for a Cal football game stay at one of the hotels on University Ave, but stay somewhere in walking distance because parking is non-exsistent on campus.
