Great Location

This hotel was great and gave us that old world charm we were looking for during our stay. I would give this hotel a five star rating just for the location alone. You’re literally steps way from the undergound, a starbucks, a bank, a pharmacy, a market, and a pub; what more could you ask for.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Brit’s eat late so we would go to Partridges about a 1/2 mile down Gloucester Road toward Kensington Park and pick up some wine, bread, and cheese and take it back to our hotel for a late afternoon snack. Also, if you’re wanting cut cost for lunch, try the Pret stores all over London (one is across from the hotel) they have ready made sandwiches to purchase to eat there or take away.

Great hotel, but didn’t care for location

This hotel is quite nice. For my preference, the location is not ideal. It’s walking distance (about 10 minutes depending on your speed) to Diana’s and Albert’s memorials, and the Royal Albert Hall. It may be close to some museums too, but I’m not certain. There are pubs, restaurants across the street, but it’s generally in a residential type neighborhood. It’s great if that’s what you like. Also a metro station is right there.

Fantastic location, beautiful building, wonderful service

We couldn’t have asked for a better location--immediately next to the Gloucester Road Tube station and many great little restaurants nearby. The hotel was beautiful and our room was quite comfortable and clean. Initially the staff had a few minor problems getting our room sorted out, but they were very polite throughout the week of our stay. On one occasion they went out of their way to heat up and some food we had purchased elsewhere (refrigerated take-out from Harrods) and brought it to our room as if we had ordered room service. (I should mention that we didn’t realize we had been given refrigerated food, and the staff at the hotel took pity on us--so this is not a standard service.) In short, we loved our stay and would gladly stay there again.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you plan on staying in the London area for at least 4 or 5 days, I recommend buying an Oyster Card rather than buy individual Tube passes. You’ll save a little money and a lot of time, plus it gets you on the public buses, which are very convenient for short trips. You can buy them at Tube stations or at the airport upon your arrival. Plus, with unlimited rides the Oyster Card provides, you’ll be more inclined to get out and see a lot more of London than might otherwise do.

Great Location

This hotel is right across the street from the underground, a grocery store and some pretty good restaurant. Absolutely couldn’t beat the location. The hotel itself is not bad either - not great, but good. I would definitely recommend because of location.

Air conditioning non existent

room was supposed to be air conditioned. I had it checked 3 time. Finally got a fan. It was very uncomfortable especially since there was one heavy quilt for bedding and nothing lighter. Also my reservation specified twin not double and I had to argue about getting a twin. I was traveling with a companion who I was not going to share a bed with. It was not pleasant.

Good tourism hotel

Clean and comfortable. Don’t expect luxury hotel amenities/service. We stayed 6 days and were very satisfied. Excellent location right next to Gloucester Road ungerground station.

Good hotel in the center of the city

This hotel was a good bargain. I was located at a tube stop. in a very good area of London which was accessible for the entire city, and surrounded bu shops and restaurants. The staff was always helpful and willing to assist. I look forward to staying at the hotel in the future.

I loved this hotel!

This is a great hotel for anyone who wants convenience. The Glouchester Street tube station is right out the front door of the hotel, from which you can get anywhere in London. I love to walk and it is a bit out from the center of the tourist area, however for me that was great as I walked the two miles everyday to the area where all the museums are. This hotel is only three blocks however from the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum which makes a nice day trip. The room was very comfortable, but small. The bed was great as was the pillow. I loved the large screen TV and the the bathroom was well appointed however small and cramped, but nice! Air conditioning was a godsend as it was 95 outside. The employees were helpful and the maid did a great job cleaning my room. I would go back in a second!

Good hotel and convenient location

A fine hotel at a very convenient location. The bathroom sink had two different spigots with hot water in one and cold in the other, so had to use plug to get warm water in basin. Our room was cleaned meticulously each day and in a timely manner. Hotel dining very good, but pricey.

A good location

Easy access to Kensington Gardens, V&A & science museums made this an ideal location for us. The hotel needs renocating. Our biggest complaint was the absence of good reading lights.

Very nice

The hotel itself was great. Large room, nice service. No view, in fact the windows were obsured glass so you couldn’t even tell what the days weather was going to be like. The only real complaint was rude and loud guests late at night, not only on our floor (2nd) but above us, but the hotel can’t be blamed for that. Gloucester tube is right across the street. So nice, as we traveled out everyday.

Great location & comfortable too

The Bailey is a small hotel, very conveniently located across from the Gloucester tube station. Pubs, ATM bank, small grocery store and other small shops, good restaurants just blocks away are added pluses. The room (and bathroom) was large by London & NYC standards, and the bed was very comfortable. Our buffet-style breakfast was half-price with our room--about 8 euros, but there were other choices nearby also. I would definitely stay here again.

Traveler's tip on dining

A few blocks away are 2 very good restaurants: La Bouchiere (French) and La Falconaire (Italian). You can walk there from the Bailey. Our concierge did not know, or at least did not recommend, these, but they are in the Rick Steve’s London book.

Excellent hotel but beware

This was a wonderful hotel, clean, beautiful and in a great location in London, near a tube stop and many shops in Kensington. But beware of the phone charges! We called a local London mobile phone three times and racked up charges of over $70!!! When addressing this with hotel management, at first we were told nothing could be done. Pressing it further, we were given a modest discount. It left a bad taste, to pay over $50 for less than 15 minutes of phone use. The hotel needs to better communicate their phone policy.

Traveler's tip on dining

The Bombay Brasserie is wonderful Indian food, a bit pricey, but worth it if you like Indian food.

It’s my address in London

I’ve stayed at the Baileys for several of my London trips. It’s just off the Gloucester Road Picadilly stop that zips you to and from Heathrow. There are several places to eat right across the street and it’s close to everything else. They could use a decor update soon, but the service is always great and I normally find a good price on Expedia.

Traveler's tip on dining

There’s a great pub, a middle eastern place, a 24 hour Tesco and a few great breakfast places right across the street.

It’s about location, location, location

Great location; across the street from Gloucester Road Underground Station, a Starbucks, a Pub, fast food, a grocery store, and walking distance to museums. The Underground Station houses the Circle, District, and Piccadilly Lines - all the trains that go to tourist attractions. The hotel staff was helpful letting me check in very early (at 9AM). While the single room was small, it was also clean and modern (they had American outlets). I loved the flat screen TV and internet access. My only issue was really trivial; the mini bar was locked from personal use. They did not want you storing your own purchases in it. I plan on staying here again if my travels ever take me back to London.

Will definately stay here again!

A very convenient place to stay just across the street from the Gloucester Rd. tube station with a grocery store in a mall with great places to eat nearby. Within walking distance of places of entertainment and musuems. Concerige very helpful with luggage and information.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy your breakfast at the grocery store and save a bit from the hotel’s restaurant.

All you need within a hundred yards of the hotel.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. Quiet at night bustling during the day. It is directly across the street from the Gloucester Road tube stop which means direct to Heathrow and not even one block to pull your suitcases to the hotel. The area is chock full of good restaurants, pubs, and grocery stores making it easy to stock up for a day out or come home late and still get a bite to eat. The hotel was clean, attractive and for once met the star level it’s rated. The room was pitifully small but I got a single for one and it was adequate. I am definitely going to stay here again.

If you want a goodnites rest ...

make sure you stay on the top floor, otherwise the sweaky floors through out the hotel scare the hell out of you. If not for the floors it’s a nice place and easy access to the underground (subway).

The perfect Home Base

Millennium Bailey’s Hotel London Kensington was just perfect for our trip. I went with my mom, mother and sister-in-law. We had two rooms and both were lovely. The location of this hotel is just amazing. The tube is right there, but with none of the noise! Sometimes after walking so much the last thing you want to do is walk more after a tube ride! Kensington is my favorite area of london to stay in. It’s quaint and safe without the overwhelming hussle of "The City." It’s perfect! We had one flukey thing with our lock happen... The motor went out completely and we had to be let in manually each time. However, management did offer to give us another room, but we refused since we had been there for a week and were leaving two nights later. We didn’t want to pack up twice! They did comp us accordingly!!!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Get a zone one and two travel card from one of the tube windows for 7 days. Even if you are only going to be there for four days, it’s still worth it! You just swipe and go rather than having to stand in line each day!
