Gem
Great hotel, fantastic rooms, high ceilings, wonderful amenities like pool, excellent location. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer.

Splendid Stay!

Great hotel, conventiently located, but change the towels!
This hotel is great, I was in room 518, looking over Hobson street. Initially I was told there were 2 check in areas, depending on which wing you stay in, but I must have chosen the right one by accident because it was the one I needed. The room was large, 2 bed separated by a sliding screen - but I would’ve preferred a couch to sit on instead. Big bathroom, good water pressure, small kitchenette which I didn’t use, was a very nice room. My only complaint is the towels in the bathroom. They were small and thin, and were an obvious detraction from the rest of this otherwise excellent establishment. Staff were fantastic, amenities were great, just those darn towels!

We would stay again. Location very good for price.
Rooms were large and had character. Laundry was inexpensive. Location was very short walk to everything without the high price of glitzier hotels. Staff went above the call in all instances even though they don’t expect tips. The breakfast was five star quality. Don’t expect American standards from servers anywhere they don’t work for tips but the servers her weren’t bad compared to other local expensive restaurants. Everything was cleaned and well maintained. Gift shop was well stocked and had good prices. Minibar prices were fair except for water, bring your own.

Need to get better central air/heater
The hotel was great ! Location great and service of staff ws great. It was winter and the room was not getting warm enough for us. Maybe they need to improve their checking of their central air/heater then the whole experience would have been great !

Follow the advise of the hotel staff (especially the concierge)at this hotel. They gave great suggestions and made our stay even more pleasant.

Fantastic!
I stayed here for 10 days, in the Tower section of the hotel, and my stay was rather enjoyable. They let me check in early, I arrived at 8:30 am and was in my room by 9:15 am. The staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. I did run into a couple of rude front desk clerks, one who sent me on a wild goose chase for a supermarket that I am fairly certain did not exist. The housekeeping staff was wonderful, and even came back late in the day a few times, when I wanted to sleep in, but still wanted my room cleaned. all in all I would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone staying in town for more than a night!

Very Nice - with one caveat
I stayed at the Heritage for ten days and was extremely pleased, but I have one gripe: the in-room internet was extremely expensive, exponentially more than I have ever paid, anywhere. Most places it’s free or nominally priced, but my ten-day total was almost $200. On the plus side, the room was fantastic, the staff extremely helpful, and they let me check in at 6:00 AM following a gruelling trans-pacific flight. I do recommend this hotel and would stay again, I just wish they would do something about the exhorbitant internet prices!

Definitely a good value!
I sqealed in delight when I saw my rooom! It has a kitchenett that is the nicest one I have ever seen. The ceilings are very high so the room looks very spacious. The bathroom was well lit, spacious and clean. The employees at The Heritage Auckland were very friendly and helpful. If I were to stay in Auckland again, I would stay at this hotel.

Will go back again
The only drawback is the lack of cheerful atmosphere at the lobby & reception area.Excessive use of chemical cleaner spray that my husband & I developed severe respiratory reaction. Had to instruct housekeeper to refrain from cleaning on the last day.Well located centrally,safe & all amenities inside rooms including washer/dryer,kitchenette,iron,weighing scale,tea/chocolate & coffee.Quiet & has a walkway connecting Tower & hotel.Swimming pool & tennis court & a courtyard are enjoyable.Fitted for longer stay.Big casino is just across & Victoria park is walkable

Do not eat at their restaurants.Very expensive.Lots of eateries closed by.Shopping ,attractions,harbor,entertainments within walking distance.Ask for discount taxi for $30.00 flat rate to airport but beware of taxi divers who ask for more than you are supposed to pay.Verify the rate before hopping on.Bellboys are very appreciative of tips which they seem not to expect at all.Friendly people

Conveniently located
Easy access to the Sky tower (we actually could see it from our balcony) and the harbor (great eating). The staff was very accommodating.
