Great location with beautiful room
We stayed in the 1 bedroom Marina Deluxe suite in early August 2009 and loved the hotel and our room. The view was perfect -- overlooking Viaduct Harbour, with its picturesque marina. The room was well appointed, very clean, modern and tasteful furnishings. The staff was friendly. The location was great -- many restaurants and pubs literally right outside the hotels doorstep. It might get a little noisy on the weekend, being so close to the pubs, but it wasnt bad at all during the week when we were there. For a small fee, you can use the fitness center and pool at the historic Tepid Baths next door -- that was very nice. The Sky Tower and the rest of downtown is only a short walk away. The parking was convenient. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Auckland.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you are adventurous, do the Auckland Harbour Bridge Bungy jump. It was our first bungy jump and we loved it. Very fun, not too expensive. They film your jump and you can buy a DVD of the jump -- just keep in mind that it may not work on your DVD player at home -- its in a PAL format which does not work in all North American DVD players. But it usually works on PCs/Laptops.

Amazing in all aspects
What a find! The suite was big enough to skate in -- huge bathroom with everything youd want and then some (washer & dryer, for example). Kitchenette area extrememly well supplied, and hotel staff were so helpful and thoughtful. The location is 10-star. Wish wed been able to stay an extra night or two! Wed go back in a flash.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
The free bus that does a loop around the downtown and university area of Auckland is a real help for tired-of-sightseeing feet. The ferry to Devonport got us out of the city centre and we had a fabulous meal at Manuka, a bistro a short walk up the main street. Great city!
