Radisson Blu Park Lane Hotel, Antwerp

Very Unimpresses

My husband and I went to Antwerp for a family wedding. The rest of the wedding party was staying at 4 star hotel around the corner. We were told by friends who had stayed at the Radisson in the past, that its the only 5 star hotel in the region, so we opted to stay there. It was a hot week in Antwerp and the hotel did NOT have working ac! They said the ac would be repaired the following week. No compensation of any sort was offered for this inconvenience. They should have offered us drinks in the bar, water in the room, breakfast, a change to a nicer room, anything They didnt! The remote for the TV in the room was missing, and they had no replacement. The safe in the room was broken and they did not have a repairman on call. We requested a non smoking room and were given a smoking room. They have a placard on the dresser in the rooms stating ’your stay is free if we can’t satisfy you’. I called Expedia when I got home to let them know all of the above. Expedia reps tried calling the hotel several times and kept being told to call back. This was going on all week. I then emailed Raddison from their site and am awaiting a response.

Traveler's tip

For the past 5 years, when we go to Europe during the summer, the ac is not what we expect it to be..working properly! We are always told, either in London or in Antwerp...’It never gets so hot here, we don’t really need ac!’ When we were in London last summer, and it was hot like hot, we went to Harrods to cool off. The ac there was not what an american might be used to! Friends of ours were saying they have been hearing the same for the past 20 years!
