Nice hotel located in a quiet, upgraded area of Oslo
I was very warm velcomed on a friday evening. The room looked like it was recently refurbished with very delicate and modern interior and furniture. The restaurant and the lobby also looked very modern and nice. Hotelguests could use computers with free internetacces at 2 computers in the bar and 2 computers in the lobbyarea. There are several nice places to eat in the Sjølyst area, for instance the italian restaurant Santinos, Peppes Pizza and MacDonalds for children. There is also a really nice shoppingarea with elegant shops. Next morning I walked 5 minutes to the airporttrain. 22 minutes later I arrived at Gardermoen Airport, ready for luggagedrop after having checked in to my flight at the free hotel computer (at the nice and friendly receptionists advice). I would be happy to stay at Scandic Sjølyst if I visit Oslo again.

Good deal
While a little hard to find at first, it is quite easy to get from the Skoyen train station (it’s about a 2 min walk).The staff were friendly and very helpful, speaking both norwegian and english. The room was clean and bed comfortable. What I enjoyed most though was the heated floor in the bathroom and very simple shower. In the mornings you have access to the breakfast buffet. This was nothing great but it was good food and fills ya up. There are also many places around the hotel to eat or have a cup of coffee if the mood strikes you.
