exactly what was needed
Downtown Bergen was 25-30 min from the airport. We wanted to be close for an early flight. Staff was pleasant and efficient. The 3:45am "wakeup call." the taxi was "at the door," and as I walked out the door--"you won’t be here for breakfast(included in room rates)so we packed you someting to take with you." Above and beyond.

Exceptional service and quality
My wife and I stayed 5 nights at the Bergen Airport Scandic and found the hotel to be top-notch in every respect. The reception staff were extremely cordial and helpful and our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. They even booked us hotel rooms in Stavanger at competitor hotels as a courtesy. Breakfast was included with our room and was available from 6 to 10AM (convenient) and the menu items were suitable for American or local tastes. Parking was free at the hotel - and free parking in or around Bergen is quite a rarity! Great value for your Bergen stay! Would go back again in a New York minute.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Driving into Bergen from the Bergen Airport Scandic hotel was easy but navigating through Bergen city was tricky and confusing. Beware of the auto "toll" each time you drive into the city, but even so Bergen’s attractions (the fish market, aquarium, shopping, and Floyen) were well worth the driving/parking hassle.
