Great location
We visited Cologne by the end of October. The room was comfortable, the personnel was very courteous. Very good breakfast in the morning. The hotel is well located. If I come back to Cologne, I will use the same hotel.
I found this city not as expensive as others in Europe. The taxi rides are cheap but you can use the public transportation or walk specially along the parks. The people was very nice and most of them speak English.

WOULD GO BACK
I had hard time finding a decent place to stay for the period that we were visiting. But the room that was reserved for me, even though a single room was too tight and there was NO INTERNET in the room which was a big inconvenience. Then the hot water problem, the one morning I had to run over the corridor with my towel and stuff to shower at another room. But over all the location of the place and the breakfast buffet was decent- I would stay there again, at a bigger room of course if I had to go back to Cologne.

Large room
The Flandrischer Hof was a decent hotel, the room we had was the largest hotel room I’ve stayed in in Europe. The room wasn’t brand new, but it was nice and very clean. The breakfast was pretty good - bread, cheeese, deli meats, and even some fresh fruit. Most importantly, the location was good, a couple of subway stops from the center of town, plenty of restaurants, even a grocery store nearby. No hair dryer in the room.
