A little disappointed
Our stay in Italy was finished up at this hotel. The building was quite pretty, but our room was a little iffy. We had one of the rooms that had the bed on a upstairs balcony. It seems rather romantic, but if you have to venture to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it is a little perilous. Also there was the most horrible stench in the hallway outside our room. It smelled like an outhouse. The smell didn’t penetrate into the room, but it never disapated in the 4 days that we were there. Also, one of the reasons I picked this hotel was because they said they had a free shuttle into Florence, and that wasn’t true. Instead we had to take the bus. The nearest stop was a 15 minute walk down a rather narrow unlighted street. It was a little scary. The food in the resturant, however, was delicious if expensive.

Beautiful villa!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel. The service was especially good. The Villa Stanley is a little bit out of the way but only a few blocks from the bus line. Our daughter was in a study abroad program in Sesto Fiorentino so the location was perfect.
