Not what we expected
As Americans living in Europe we are quite used to the difference between American standards and European standards. This hotel was absolutely gorgeous on the outside and had a fabulous restaurant, but the room was not acceptable. It was dark, the bed was very uncomfortable and the furnishings were sparse and unsightly. This is not a four star hotel, this is a two star hotel.

Great Find in a Perfect Location
This was truly a great find. The hotel was charming, room was large and spacious, and the grounds and pool magnificent. Plenty of parking was a plus. The location puts you in the center of the lakes region with Bellagio and Como only 25 minutes away. My wife and I had a wonderful meal at the hotel restaurant. Highly recommended.

Real Character, Great Location and Fantastic Food
This is a great hotel in a really amazing builidng - Like living in a real medieval castle ! The location is great if you are looking for something quiet and a drive to Como (20 mins) - Some great views of the mountains and very pretty garden setting. Rooms were large and surprizingly well appointed - although the bathrooms could all do with an upgrade, they were acceptable. The Grill restaurant was set in the gardens and had great food - we ate there two nights in a row. Overall a really good hotel to spend a few days in the lakes
The hotel worked well for our family with kids 13 and 11. A good swimming pool - places to explore and good food. There were relatively few children (more a few babies), but if your kids are happy without adventure play grounds and kids clubs then this hotel is great
