Great hotel, great service, great location just next to the Khan Mkt.
Hotel was wonderful. As pool was under construction they permit you to use the pool of their sister hotel which is out of this world. Dont miss it.

Four Star Hotel in a Five Star Chain
The Ambassador is a four star hotel in a chain that specializes in five star accomodations. It has the same market position in the Taj Group as the Oberoi Maidens in the Oberoi group. The two hotels are very comparable and both are excellent. Both have lovely (outdoor) pool and exercise facilities. The Ambassador is not quite as quiet as the Maidens (the quietest hotel I have EVER stayed in) but it is still very restful. The restaurants are similar. Ambassador has more variety (the Chinese place is pretty good); the Maidens has slightly better quality preparation. Price is similar, so the choice is mostly about what part of Delhis geography is more convenient to your plans.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The Delhi tourism small bus tours are very well done. Delhi is one of the oldest cities in the world and has layers of history that you couldnt unravel in a month. Dont miss Humayuns tomb (model for the Taj), Qtab Minar, and the newly constructed Akshardham temple in Noida gives a wonderful overview of traditional (Hindu) Indian culture--but give it at least a half day. Take the Metro whenever you can. On my trip what would have been a 2 1/2 hour taxi ride to Old Delhi took 25 minutes!

An oasis in chaotic Delhi
The staff does everything they can to make your stay acomfortable. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The pool was out of commision due to Delhis metro construction but they had free taxi service to their more upscale nearby sister hotel where you could use their facilities.
Traveler's tip on shopping
Near to Khan Market.
