Great place to stay in London

Our room was truly wonderful, especially by London standards! And the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect - fairly quiet and yet close to everything. I will definitely stay here again!

Great Hotel, would stay there again!

This is a great English Hotel! As expected the room was on the smallish size, not the size Americans are use to. However large enough, tastefully decorated and the staff keep it very clean (as with the rest of the hotel). The staff is very helpful and the location is great as the tube is two blocks away along with a variety of restaurants. One drawback was the was no coffee pot in the room but a "Cafe Nero" is one block away. I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in London!

Great value, excellent location, exceeded expectations

This was our 1st trip as a family to London. My wife, our 10-yr old daughter, and me. I’ve been to London 5-6 times before for business but had never stayed at Royal Park before. The location is excellent - within a couple blocks of Paddington station, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and Lancaster Gate Tube stop. We made the walk to and from the hotel from Paddington easily with our luggage in tow. The staff was friendly, eager to help, and actually very helpful. We were very pleased with the staff. Having been to London several times before and Europe many times, this hotel exceeded our expectations for value, comfort, and service. We tried to get an extra night, but they were unfortunately booked. My wife is still raving about the bed there. The cot for our daughter was more than enough, and the room was big enough. We highly recommend this hotel and will stay there whenever we return to London.

Take one of the tour buses the first day. They go by all major attractions and it helped us set up an agenda for the 4 days we were there. Can get a real feel for the city, plus you can get on and off whenever and wherever you want, so you can hit any "must-sees" on day 1. Don’t recommend it more than 1st day. Get a tube pass for the week and use the tube + walking. A fantastic city.

Noisy Room

The service, condition along with the size of the room made the hotel one that I would like to stay at again. We had to fight to go to sleep because of the noise from either a washing machine, water heater or air condition. Travelers should be wary of the third floor.

Lovely Clean Place

Lovely old style Hotel, clean and excellent value. If it only had a resturant and a bar it would be perfect.

Amazing. Perfect choice.

It was a fantastic stay. The room type the hotel had was different from the one I booked in Expedia but the manager provided us the room we booked in Expedia. The room was perfect.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Very good location. Close to Paddington station where the express train to Heathrow stops.

Great value, location

Room was fine, clean, very comfortable bed, nice bath. Common areas and exterior about ready for spiffing up but more than acceptable. Staff eager to help. Location is terrific...couple of blocks to Paddington train station and tube, we never had to take a cab. Also reasonably priced restaurants within a few blocks as well as conveniences (drug stores, newsstands, banks, etc). We were very happy with the experience.

Week Near Paddington

The hotel is very close to Paddington station (2 blocks) and is also very close to Hyde park (2 blocks) so access is great, it is constructed from several old townhouses joined together, as most small hotels are in London. The rate was very good and the room itself was very nice, I had one that was a stepdown (6 feet below sidewalk level) so there was no view and it was a bit dark. The staff were polite and the room was very well kept. The only real drawback was it was not ready when I came, I phoned ahead, asked for early check-in, was told that was fine, came by in the morning to drop off luggage, told come back at noon, told at noon come back at 1 told at 1 to come back at 2 , etc, this was during a downpour in London, so that made for a vey soggy arrival and hard start, after that it was fine.

Small rooms but nicely maintained

Great staff. Great location (2 blocks from Paddington tube. But rooms are small. Not tiny but bordering on it. Nice bathroom however.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Go see Zorro the musical while in London. Great music and dancing. Fun, fun, fun.

clean hotel in a convenient location

We stayed at the Royal Park for 9 days during our trip to London to see the Wimbledon tennis tournament. We found all of the employees to be very helpful and the room to be very clean. The hotel is in very close walking distance to both the Lancaster Gate and Paddington tube stops. The area seemed very safe if a bit touristy. I would recommend this hotel.

good time

I liked the people and location. I would recommend, but if I go back I might look for a place with a resturant inside.

Traveler's tip

Hotel near Paddington station is great for heathrow express and trip to Windsor Castle.

Clean, comfortable, helpful and inexpensive

Although we only stayed one night we were very impressed with the clean room (with proper, fluffy bath towels and three pillows of varying firmness) and the excellent service. Very accessible, just a couple of moments from Paddington or Lancaster Gate, and a definite feeling of olde-worlde service. Highly recommended (and I’m a tough critic!)

Traveler's tip on nightlife

The Comedy Store at Piccadilly Circus is the best night out in London!

Quiet little jewel in a somewhat remote location

We have stayed in London many times before. I liked this hotel, but felt that it was not as accessible I would like ideally. It was very clean and comfortable. The rooms were a little small. I was bothered by the huge stain on black-out roll-down curtain in our sons’ room. Because they are two adolescent boys I didn’t complain because they didn’t even notice. The ambiance was interesting...I would say oddly quiet. The personnel was very kind, but just too quiet. There was no music in the lobby, just the ticking of the clock.....I think that they could make this place just a little more welcoming by adding soft music in the lobby and hotel employees that were a little more communicative. For the price, it was a good pick.

A Little Gem

The royal park hotel is a little gem of a hotel... With it’s great location, only a few blocks away from Paddington Station, and only a few blocks away from Lancaster Tube stop, it is quite easy to travel to all sights in London. The rooms are very nice and the black and white bathrooms are lovely with great showers! The hotel even offers a free glass of champagne and canapes every night to guests.Hope you enjoy your stay at the royal park hotel as much as we did...

Charming Boutique hotel

Very lovely hotel, staff were very courteous and helpful. Good location, only 5 mins walk to either Paddington or Lancaster Gate tube station. 5 mins walk to Hyde park, great place to stroll if you have kids. I stayed there with my 4 year old and he loved the hotel too. The room was tastefully furnished, the view from the room was very nice. I would have loved it if a continental breakfast was included instead of paying extra money for it. However, Paddington is nearby and has an abundance of eateries. We would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again when we next visit London.

Would Definitely Stay At Royal Park Again

This is a great hotel, and we stayed there for what I considered to be a very reasonable price. The bed was a little firm for my liking. Other than that, we had a great stay. Very close to Paddington tube stop, which makes it very convenient.

Hidden Gem

The Royal Park is a small, quiet, boutique-style hotel, just north of Kensington Gardens. Public transportation is nearby, with two different underground stations and a Big Bus stop, within a few blocks. We spent 3 nights there in mid October, a great time to visit London. The rooms are a comfortable size with updated furnishings. The bed was so comfy, it was hard to drag ourselves out of it each morning. The bathroom was updated and clean, with great water pressure. Internet access is available in the rooms for an extra fee and free wireless access is available in the lobby area, which is more like a cozy den. We would definitely stay there again. Our only wish is that London come up with a few express trains to get around the city faster. The underground trains stop at every station and are quite slow, compared to the NYC subway.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Definitely purchase an unlimited ride pass for the underground (subway) so you can ride all day at a lower rate.

Fantastic location and quality

The Royal Park is unbelievably only 2 blocks from Paddington Station, we walked, and is also on a lovely residential street. Our king room was good-sized and beautifully decorated. The management found us an open restaurant within walking distance even though we arrived past 11 pm. We passed on breakfast at the hotel and found a more reasonable option near Paddington. The room wasn’t cheap but was great value for the money. I would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you are going to be in London for more than a few days and plan to use public transportation, consider buying an Oyster card. The initial cost is cheap and it saves 50% on tube tickets and can be used on the buses as well.

Tiny Room

I would only recommend this hotel as an overnight stay before getting the Heathrow Express to the airport. The room was exremely tiny in a basement. The hotel has no business center where you could review your flight reservations. No restaurant.

Would go back!

This hotel was clean, very nicely decorated, quiet, friendly and helpful staff. Best part was 2 min walk to Hyde Park and Tube station. I would use it again due to being so close to tube and park as well as a variety of resturants and it was small and personal. A little pricey but worth it.

Traveler's tip

Since it was so close to Hyde Park no problem getting in daily work out.
