A bit of heaven carved out of the jungle
Great buffet, terrific well-kept landscaping, pretty good shows in amphitheater, great swimming pools close to beach, even a little sailboat included in all-inclusive price.

With Riu you can’t go wrong......
This was our second trip to Mexico, we used a Riu chain once again and couldn’t have been happier unless we were in a 5 star Riu like the one we stayed at last time in Cancun. The Riu Yucatan is a great hotel with excellent service, cleanliness, and just sheer fun and relaxation! I know this is a all inclusive resort but take plenty of dollar bills for tipping, treat them well and you will be treated the same. We will definitely return to the Riu Yucatan but our next trip might be back to the Riu Palace Las Americas. Either way we will be more than pleased. Thanks Again to the folks at Riu for a great trip!

If you want to have a more enjoyable time then do your homework and read the reviews and take them with a grain of salt as some people apparently like to complain about everything for no real justified reason. You are on vacation make the most of it and do your homework and treat others as you expect to be treated and too will have a great trip.

Room had A/C problems.
We loved the hotel when it came to the location, tropical look, and the presentation of the meals. But there was no a/c in our room that we discovered up in the night. Had to get maintenance to get our fan to the high speed because there was no pull chain. They were going to move us to another room but we did not want to pack everything up to move, so we stayed in the room with the fan. It was livable during the night but not the day. We were on the beach & pool during the day.
