clean & comfortable
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet with every need adequately met. The gym was better than many, with a good variety of equipment and a nice pool (both virtually empty during our stay). This definitely seems to be a business hotel but our family of four enjoyed it. Only downside: it wasn’t easy to find a nearby diner-type eatery for breakfast. Had to drive about a mile.

hilton stamford downtown
not in the best part of town but very convenient to highway and the rest of downtown stamford. the whole place was nice but the tissue box in our room was filled with water when we arrived. we tossed it and on the way out told the front desk and they said they’d have it replaced. when we returned later that eve, it was not replaced. my wife needed tissues due to allergies but it was too late to wait and have them come up with a new box so we let it go. still the lack of attention to detail was a concern for us. also the $10 charge for parking was silly. maybe it is needed on weekdays when the office park there is open but we paid it and went to the garage but found no access code was needed. the parking lot had tons of room on the weekend and the security gate was up all day/night going in or out. so we think that was not necessary for them to charge us for that.

The location is not really downtown as mentionned, but it is close though not walking distance. Its location is perfect to hop on the commuter train to New York city; the train is at walking distance. The town of Stamford is beautiful.
